Instrument Success
Every instrument needs certain
items for proper maintenance.
Listed below are the items
needed for each instrument
and things to have done for a
great school year.
FLUTE: Cleaning rod and cloth.
Good pads and keys that close.
CLARINET: Cleaning swab, cork
grease and 3 good reeds with
cases. Good pads and keys that

SAXOPHONE: Cleaning swab,
cork grease and 3 good reeds

TRUMPET: Valve oil, slide
grease, and snake/spit balls. All
valves and slides should move.
FRENCH HORN: Rotary oil,
grease, and snake. All valves and
slides should move.
TROMBONE: Slide oil/cream,
grease and snake/spitballs. All
valves and slides should move.
TUBA: Valve oil and grease. All
valves and slides should move.
PERCUSSION: Stick, practice

Google Classroom
This year the band will be using google classroom for playing
assignments. If you are familiar with google classroom, sign-up
using the code below. (We will go over google classroom and
playing tests in depth in class as well!) The google classroom
app is a great addition to any device. This app will make
submitting playing assignments super easy as well as helping
you keep up on assignments in other classes as well!!

There’s an app for that!
Speaking of apps, if you have a smartphone or iPad you will
probably be using it quite a bit for band this year as either a
tuner or a metronome. Listed below are some great free apps
to try.

Volunteer
Please send me an email if you are interested in chaperoning
the band for any away event. Sending an email does not mean
you are automatically signed up to chaperone events. Rather,
information is sent out regarding chaperoning before band
events take place and volunteers are requested. Traveling with
the band is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!!
Solo Contest
Starting in September 9-12th graders will have the opportunity
to participate and compete in solo contest. Solo music be
selected the 2nd and 3rd week of school for any student
interested in participating.
