Installation Instructions

The following instructions describe the installation of the 1.5 REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM ASSEMBLY
Reverse Sensing System Kit. 1. Park machine on a firm level surface, level machine,
fully retract boom, lower boom, place transmission in

• Standard Mechanic Tools 2
• Loctite® 242™ 3

1.4 PERSONNEL REQUIRED 1

• Qualified Equipment Mechanic MAP1010

5. Install Reverse Sensor (1) P/N 1001182358 on
Reverse Sensor Bracket (2) P/N 1001152220 using
four Soc HD Capscrew (3) P/N 3931012.
6. Attach two P-Clamp (4) P/N 1320136 to

the reverse sensor bracket (2) using two
Soc HD Capscrew (3) P/N 3931012.
Do Not Tighten at this time.

8. Connect Sensor Harness (7) P/N 1001153084 to
7. Install Reverse Sensor assembly on frame by using reverse sensor (1).

P/N 4752200. Torque the mounting bolt to P-Clamp (4).
80 lb-ft (108 Nm).
10. Tighten the two previously installed P- Clamp (4)

Note: If equipped with roadlights or worklights, use

existing hardware (5 & 6) to attach the Road Light and
Work Light. Torque the mounting bolt to 80 lb-ft (108
Nm).
11. Unplug backup alarm (8) from the chassis harness.
12. Connect female terminal “A” of reverse sensor
harness to the backup alarm (8).
13. Connect male terminal “B” of reverse Sensor
harness to the chassis harness.

14. Route and secure reverse sensor harness (7) to
existing wire harness running along frame using
Tie Straps (9) P/N 4240033.
15. Route reverse sensor harness (7) through opening in
front of the cab.
16. Route reverse sensor harness (7) inside dash panel.

17. Mount Audible Alarm (10) P/N 0140011 on Alarm
Bracket (11) P/N 1001182662 as shown above.
18. Connect wire terminal X04 of reverse sensor harness
(7) to positive terminal of alarm (10) using provided
screws.
19. Connect wire terminal X05 of reverse sensor harness
(7) to negative terminal of alarm (10) using provided
screws.

20. Loosen and remove nut and bolt (12) securing dash
panel.
21. Mount alarm bracket assembly (13) between dash
panel (14) and dash mounting bracket (15).
22. Install and tighten previously removed hardware (12).
23. Secure any excess sensor harness (7) under dash
panel.

24. Clean and dry the mounting space of Reverse
Sensing System Decal (16) using alcohol prep pad.
25. Install the appropriate Reverse Sensing System
Decal (16) P/N 1001160072 (ANSI English),
1001160945 (ANSI French) or 1001160916 (ISO).
26. Secure any loose wires.
27. Properly connect the battery.
28. Close the engine cover.
29. Clear all people and/or obstacles behind machine
before performing Reverse Sensing System check.
30. Start machine and depress and hold brake. Place
machine in reverse gear.
31. Verify alarm sound upon system start up.

Note: Reverse Sensing System detects objects of size 1.6 PARTS LIST

37. Turn ignition key to OFF position.
38. Remove Do Not Operate Tag from both the ignition
key switch and steering wheel.
39. Return machine to service.
Note: Replace the Operation & Safety Manual with the
most current revision.
