The purpose of this paper is to compare simple random sampling method with systematic

sampling method. I will elaborate simple random and systematic sampling next section of the

paper followed by possible advantages and disadvantages of those methods.

Simple Random Sampling

Taherdoost (2016), defined simple random sampling as every elements of the population

has an equal chance to being selected to the sample. This acts as a component for other sampling

methods. For Instance, ten (X) students want to play volleyball, but only six (Y) students can

play for the one team (X>Y). Then, the students will be given numbers from one to ten. Out of

ten numbers, manually or systematically select six random numbers will be selected to play

volleyball.

Although, the population size is small or large simple random sampling is done without

replacement, which mean researcher avoids selecting any data of the population more than once.
