Dangerous Goods
The carriage of dangerous goods principally is prohibited on all Germania flights. For security reasons, passengers
generally are not allowed to bring the following articles, regardless of whether they may be in the hand luggage, checked
luggage or worn on the body:
• Briefcases and security type attache cases, with installed alarm devices, or incorporative lithium, batteries and/or
pyrotechnic material.
• Weapons of any kind, in particular firearms, blunt or sharp weapons.
• Disabling devices such as mace, pepper spray, etc..
• Explosives and explosive devices, including detonators, fuses, grenades, mines, munitions, fireworks and flares.
• Gases (flammable, non-flammable, deeply refrigerated and poisonous) such as camping gas and aerosols.
• Flammable liquids such as lighter fuels, varnish, cleaning agents, paint and thinner.
• Flammable solids, such as matches and articles which are easily ignited.
• Substances liable to spontaneous combustion, substances which on contact with water emit flammable gases
• Oxidizing substances (such as bleaching powder and peroxides).
• Poisonous (toxic) and infectious materials, including quicksilver, rat poison, infected blood samples.
• Radioactive material, including medicinal or commercial isotopes.
• Petrol-operated equipment and tools that have contained minimal amounts of petrol (e.g. components of vehicles).
• Corrosives (such as mercury, which may be contained in thermometers, acids, alkalis and wet-cell batteries).
• Magnetized materials and miscellaneous dangerous goods as listed in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. Items
that Germania Fluggesellschaft mbH regards as unsuitable for carriage on account of their weight, size or nature are also
excluded from transportation. The above regulations do not apply to medicines and medical appliances, toiletries, smoking
utensils (except gasoline cigarette lighter), alcoholic drinks, provided these are carried in small quantities for personal
use.
Limited Transportation Lithium ion batteries
Lithium ion batteries exceeding a watt-hour rating of 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh may be carried as spare batteries
in carry on baggage, or in equipment in either checked or carry on baggage. No more than two individually protected
spare batteries per person may be carried.
Prohibited articles in cabin baggage
Toy guns (plastics or metal), Catapults, Cutlery, Razor blades, commercially toys that could be used as a weapon, Knitting
needles, Sports rackets and other sports and leisure equipment (e.g. Billard-, Snooker Queues, Polo racquets) and any
other sharp objects such as knives, scissors tail combs and syringes (except for certified medical purposes) or weapons of
any kind are not permitted in the cabin baggage or on their person. These articles may only be carried in checked
baggage.
