Job Summary:

This is a Critical Care Clinical Fellow position responsible for managing critically ill patients in the
medical, neurological and cardiothoracic intensive care unit. A suitable candidate should be proficient in
advanced airway management, leading an adult cardiac arrest team (CALS), vascular line placements,
nasogastric tube insertion, and invasive monitoring. Other more specialised skills are desirable, including
intracranial pressure monitoring, management of renal failure & replacement and use of cardiac pacing
systems.

An ideal candidate would be a Specialist Registrar (ST4 and above) and holds relevant certifications such
as Primary FRCA and/or FFICM or equivalent.

Health Informatics Fellowship Opportunity/Ambassador

Cleveland Clinic London is pioneering a parallel clinical fellowship model with a unique focus on hospital
activation work, EPIC electronic medical record software, and healthcare informatics. With the vision of
becoming the most technologically advanced hospital in the United Kingdom, we have reserved a
limited number of positions for fellows who have a keen interest in learning how to optimise and
leverage technology, specifically related to the EPIC electronic medical system and integrated clinical
applications. The fellow would be brought onboard in September 2020, prior to the 2021 opening to
take a deep dive into our electronic medical record system, and informatics strategies. From there, the
fellows would develop expertise in both technology and simulation and ultimately being at the forefront
as ambassadors to facilitate the integration of health informatic system within the organisation from the

Cleveland Clinic London Hospital locates at 33 Grosvenor Place, near Buckingham Palace, in the heart of
London’s Belgravia district. It will be a multispecialty hospital with 185 beds, including 29 ICU beds, 8
operating theatres, a full imaging suite, endoscopy unit, cardiac catheterisation and electrophysiology
labs.

Job Responsibilities:

Clinical

Working as a part of the Critical Care clinical fellow workforce covering a Intensive Care Unit of up to 29
beds capacity.

 Working collaboratively with specialist consultants and nursing professionals to ensure that
patients’ treatment and care needs are met.
 Being a part of the rolling rota covering a 24-7 acute service under the supervision of
consultants in critical care medicine.
 Managing Critical Care patients including those with multi organ failure, requiring
cardiopulmonary support including intubation, ventilation and management of arrhythmias.
 Leading and assisting with new admissions and inpatient consultations, including morning and
evening multidisciplinary ward rounds
 Proactively identifying patients who qualify for early mobilisation, are at risk for decline or may
have a longer length of stay

Taking part in clinical governance, education, training and research to continuously improve and strive
for excellence:

 Participating in the regular in-house learning sessions and other educational activities as well as
taking up educational responsibilities
 Adhering to the best practice guidelines, clinical audits, and governance.
 Active involvement in clinical governance meetings, including but not limited to mortality
review, safety event reporting, peer review, and other relevant activities.
 Continual commitment, and participation in mandatory trainings, including Epic electronic
medical record system.
 If interested, participating in professional development opportunities such as medical
management & leadership, education & simulation or academic research programmes within
CCL or the main campus in Cleveland, US. A tailored visit to main campus in Ohio will be
available to all Fellows appointed to these roles.
Personal Specification:
