2. GETTING STARTED
Welcome on board to Sifu Tutor! We are delighted to have you to become part of our
team. We know that you are excited for your first class, so let’s get started!
2.1. Registration
Make sure that your registration is complete! We will invite you to our Whatsapp
group once you are accepted into the team after the interview session. We will
blast all job details through the Whatsapp group from 10am – 5pm every weekday.
We implement first come first serve basis for all jobs advertised. You need to
commit at least 6 month for every class or else you will be terminated from the
team.
2.2.1. Schedule
Once you have been assigned with your first student, Madam Suzy will email you a
class schedule for your reference. Please make sure that all the class details are
complete in your schedule at the beginning of every month. Remember to double
check with your student on the date scheduled to make sure that there are no
errors. You should familiarize yourself with the scheduling system because all of
your future classes will be arranged in the schedule.

changes in these
two yellow columns
You can also check the total payment that you will receive for the respective month.
Please remember to update your schedule and check if there are any errors.

2.3. Assessment
On your first class, you should get to know the student personally. Try to familiarize
yourself with the personality traits of the student so as to establish a good rapport
with him/her. You may start with introducing yourself in detail, and once the student
is comfortable with you, you may then proceed with the academic assessment.
2.3.1. Objective
The student evaluation form is a guide for you to assess the student’s current
academic level. There are four parts in the evaluation form:
In part 1, you will evaluate the student’s knowledge on the subject. You should
pick several questions according to the student’s academic level. In the example
below, the student is currently in Form 2 and the subject being evaluated is Sains.
The student was tested on the following topics verbally:
7
1) Keadaan jirim
3) Pembakaran
4) Fotosintesis
8
Figure 2.3.2.1: Part I example
The questions listed on page 4 were asked to the student verbally (casual
conversation). The student could not answer most of the questions immediately; most
likely due to shyness and lack of confidence. However, after giving him some time to
think and calm himself down, he managed to answer most of the questions correctly.
Please remember that it is very important to put the student at ease as some students
find it difficult to communicate with strangers. Give them some time for this adjustment
and allow the students to commit some form of error in Part 1.
9
2.3.2.2. Part II: Understanding
In Part II, you will test the student’s understanding on the concepts/ideas
tested in Part I; by using verbal or written questions, or possibly both. The
designed questions for this part should only require basic thinking and
understanding. Allow some form of error to take place in Part II.
In the example below, follow-up questions based on Part I were asked to the
student.
1) Keadaan jirim
3) Pembakaran
4) Fotosintesis

2.3.2.3. Part III: Application
In Part III, you will instruct the student to answer questions in the form of
i. Multiple choice
ii. Diagrams
iii. Fill in the blanks
Based on the topics in Part II, you can obtain questions from any exercise
book or you can construct your own questions. Then, grade the student in
Part III based on the overall mark obtained.
12
2.3.2.4. Part IV: Analysis
In Part IV, you will instruct the student to answer long questions which are
linked to the topics tested for example:
13
Based on the topics tested in Part III, obtain questions from any exercise
book or you can also construct your own questions. Then, grade the student
in Part IV based on the overall mark obtained.
14
2.3.2.5. Part V: Summary
In Part V, you will need to briefly state the student’s strengths and
weaknesses based on your assessment. Apart from that, you are also
required to provide suggestions on how to improve the student’s
performance.
After finalizing your evaluation form, discuss your findings on the student’s
current academic level with the parents. Then, advise the number of classes
that should be held each month.

result in your payment being deducted 10%.
After you have completed or postponed a class, please update your schedule
in Google Sheets. Refer to section 2.2.1 on how to maintain your schedule. If
there is any postponement, quickly schedule a replacement class as each
class is paid beforehand by the parents.
You are also required to schedule your classes for the following month before
