Experimenting: April 28th

Today your main task will be ​experimenting with​ your resource for composing your
song and learning how to ​Save​ and ​Submit​ your experiment.

Spend around ​15 minutes​ testing your chosen resource today, then submit an audio or
video recording that is ​just for evidence​ that you experimented (it does NOT need to
sound good or sound like a song yet!! Today is JUST about experimenting with different
sounds and learning how to submit it).

For some of you, experimenting might mean:

- Just playing some different melodies or chords on an instrument
- Experimenting with lyrics or sung melodies
- Learning how to use a composition website:
- How to make different instruments on that website?
- How to change rhythms and notes?
- How to add dynamics and tempos? Etc.

Follow these steps to Save and Submit a recording of your experiment today. If you need
help, remember to ask me between 8-12.

1) *Save your video/mp3/PDF ​to your computer​* ​(those options and processes will be
different for everyone)
2) Open Google Drive
3) Click “New”
4) Click “File Upload” and upload the file of your experiment from today
5) Once in Google Drive, click the three dots in the corner of your file
6) Click “Share”
7) Click “Get Shareable Link”
8) Copy that Shareable Link to post below. :)

I will try to add more parts to this 1 minute
song. IF I can, I will try to go further longer.
What did you work on this week?
I used the app Remix Live on my iPad to
create the second section of my song. I chose
Future beat because I saw a Cm on the side of
the menu. I tried my best to keep the new
section close to the old one so that it is in the
same mood.
What will you work on adding or

I will probably try to add small parts of new
instruments to the sequences that have been
done. It may be recordings from Remix Live
or I might create my own newpart on
soundtrap.
What did you work on this week?
I worked on changing all the pitches in the
first section up by one box so that it matches
the mix from RemixLive. I also made changes
to the lengths of the parts and the fades of it.

Honestly, it is a lot better than I expected my
ability to achieve. I think it is a very
important part in any kind of music and
working in general is to continue the work
constantly like practicing your instruments
daily.
