NARRATIVE REPORT

Earthquake is one of the famous disasters that caused people died or injured. It cannot be detected
when and where it would be happened to anyone. This is mostly happened in places where people are
hanging around and working. Earthquake is understood by being a natural phenomenon caused by the
constant movements of the earth’s crustal plates and due to climate change too
In line with the campaign to be safe of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Council or NDRRMC empowered by the Department of Education, Carmen
National Agricultural High School conducted its earthquake drill last August 16, 2018.This
DepEd Memorandum stated that all public and private schools and DepEd offices in full cooperation with
the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) should undertake a Simultaneous
National School-Based Earthquake Drill.  The drill started with the ceremonial pressing of the
button where the students together with their teachers followed strictly the three important things
during an earthquake. These were the Ducking, Covering and Holding, Watching out for falling objects,
and Keeping calm and avoiding panic. Before the actual drills, Mr. Rommel Desuyo ,the School DRR
Coordinator took an orientation during the flag ceremony. He disseminated the information about the
occurrence of earthquake as well as the needs to carry out a drill to enhance the students’ awareness on the
safety measures before, during and after the earthquake.
