ADDMIX® 152

ADDMIX 152 is a admixture for improving concrete for precast manufacturers. ADDMIX
152 is a plasticizer liquid admixture with air entraining properties. Designed for use in no-
slump concrete, it is ideally suited for factory-line concrete production such as block
making.

no-slump concrete. ADDMIX 152 assists in the manufacture of a more uniform and predictable
concrete. Chloride free ADDMIX 152 may also be used in dry pack, standard and light weight
concrete production.

Dosage:
As a starting base for factory trials a rate between 150ml to 400ml per 50 Kg of cement /
cementitious material is recommended. Local production conditions and material types may
necessitate dosages outside this range.

Application procedure:
Direction for use:
Mix the aggregates, the cement and 75% of the mixing water. Add the ADDMIX 152 together
with the rest of the mixing water. After all ingredients are added continue mixing for 60 to 90
seconds.

Compatibility:
ADDMIX 152 is compatible with most admixtures used in the production of quality concrete
including normal, other mid-range and high-range water-reducing admixtures, air entertainers,
accelerators, retarders, extended set control admixtures, corrosion inhibitors, and shrinkage
reducers.
The effect of ADDMIX 152 is dependent upon the cement properties and the type of plasticizers
used in the concrete mix. The setting time and early strength gain may be affected if strong
retarders are used in the mix. ADDMIX 152 is also compatible with slag and pozzolans such as fly
ash and silica fume.

Corrosivity – Non Corrosivity:

ADDMIX 152 admixture will neither initiate nor promote corrosion of reinforcing steel
embedded in concrete, prestressed concrete or concrete placed on galvanized steel floor and
roof systems. Neither calcium chloride nor any calcium chloride-based ingredients are used in
the manufacture of ADDMIX 152 admixture.
Storage and Shelf life:
ADDMIX 152 must be stored where temperatures do not drop below +5°C. If product has frozen,
thaw at +5°C or above and completely reconstitute using mild mechanical agitation. Store under
cover, out of direct sunlight and protect from extremes of temperature. Shelf life is 12 months
when stored as above.

Safety precautions:
As with all chemical products, care should be taken during use and storage to avoid contact with
eyes, mouth, skin and foodstuffs (which can also be tainted with vapour until product fully cured
or dried). Treat splashes to eyes and skin immediately. If accidentally ingested, seek immediate
medical attention. Keep away from children and animals. Reseal containers after use. Do not
reuse containers for storage of consumable item.
