Note: This value is phase to phase value and winding temperature is 29°C
Comments:
A little difference in current(2020) and previous(1994) values might be due to different connection points
for per phase reading also due to different measuring instrument. However the results for all three phases
are comparable to each other and their deviation between phase values is within acceptable limit of ±5%
for both previous and current testing results.

Comments:
The tan delta at 0.2 Uo shows inherent dielectric losses, quality of initial curing and general condition,
moisture content and cleanliness of the machine. The tan delta values at 0.2 Uo are above the acceptable
limit which may be due to initial curing of the machine and/or non-moisture contamination. Power factor
tip-up shows quality of impregnation process and delamination resulting from thermal stress. Capacitance
tip-up shows amount of void content. Tan delta tip-up and Capacitance tip-up are above the acceptable
limit. Physical inspection is recommended. Check the monitored temperature record. Watch-out winding
temperature as every 10 °C rise in temperature reduces the life by half. For further recommendations
consult with the OEM.
1. As per IEC 60034-27-3* limit for Tan Delta at 0.2Uo < 1.5%
Tan Delta Tip-up between 0.2Uo and 0.6Uo < 0.5%
U0 = Line to Line Voltage
* Note: standard mentions these limits for individual coils/bar not for complete stator winding.
2. Prescon Recommended limits
Tan Delta at 0.2Un < 1.5%
Tan Delta Tip-up at 0.2Un and 1.0 or 1.2Un < 1%
Un = Line to neutral Voltage
In FAT testing they used Line to line Voltages and increased upto rated line to line voltage. For new
machine we can go upto rated line to line voltages, but for old machine we are restricted to 120% of line
to neutral voltage.

IR results of this motor is comparable with FAT results. Tan delta Tip-up and Tan delta at 0.2Uo results are
higher than the FAT results as shown in comparison table. Winding Resistance Results of this motor are
within the acceptable limits and comparable to FAT results. MCA results of this motor is within the
acceptable limits.
Overall condition of motors is under observation. The tan delta values at 0.2 Uo are above the acceptable
limit which may be due to initial curing of the machine and/or non-moisture contamination. Tan delta Tip-
up result of this motor is above the acceptable limit.
Partial Discharge activity is nominal and mainly in surface / end winding surface and hence the higher tip
up would call for physical inspection of the motor in upcoming opportunity for looking at contamination
in windings or overheating signs, looseness in end winding braces, slot exits.
It is recommended to physically inspect the unit and retest after 1 year for trending purpose. Check the
monitored temperature record. Watch-out winding temperature as every 10 °C rise in temperature
reduces the life by half. For further recommendations consult with the OEM.
