Technical Key
(not applicable for 670 series)

ƒ Is used for security reasons, more

difficult to communicate with the wrong
IED since the technical key at IED
object in PCM600 and in physical IED
must match.
ƒ Unique identifier for each object in the
Plant Structure
ƒ Is set automatically by PCM600
ƒ Can be modified by the user

ƒ To synchronize PCM600 and IED

technical key, use the “Set Technical
Key” Tool
ƒ To change the technical key in
PCM600 only, go to object properties
for the IED object

ƒ Compare configuration
ƒ Reads hardware configuration from the
IED and compares with the HW
configuration made in PCM600
ƒ Make sure that the HW configuration
matches with your physical IED before
you do any other configuration e.g. with
ACT or SMT otherwise you might need to
spend time on reconfiguration.
