RyLee Mix has
steadily climbed the
ladder when it comes to
raising market animals
during her time in 4-H.
Two years ago she
raised a grand champion
heavy-weight marker
lamb, and last year she
was right back up there,
raising a pair of market
animals that took home
top awards.
Her market hog
was the overall grand
champion and medium
heavy weight grand
champion. When selling
her 294-pound hog at the
Northeast Montana Fair’s
4-H/FFA Livestock Sale,
she got $3.50 a pound,
sold to D&G Sports and
Western. She also won
the animal award with her
pig.
RyLee’s market lamb
weighed 162 pounds and
brought $6.00 a pound
by Glasgow Retail Rental.
Her lamb also took home
high honors as the overall RyLee Mix will be headed to Glendive this Saturday to compete in the Badlands
