SPEED TEMPLATES
Measure movement on the ASW grids on pages 12-13 using these two Har-
poon Speed Templates. The Intermediate Template (marked 1 inch=4000 yards)
is used for plotting Intermediate turns. When plotting shifts to Tactical turns, use
the Tactical Template (marked 1 inch=1000 yards). The measuring tick marks on
each template correspond to the distances per turn indicated on the Speed Tem-
plate Values Table for each type of turn (Tactical or Intermediate), and are la-
beled with the speed in knots for the convenient usage of Harpoon players and
referees. Harpoon players and referees have permission to photocopy these
templates for personal use. Affixing the photocopies to thin cardboard is sug-
gested to make them easier to handle.

HARPOON
CAPTAIN'S EDITION
Designed especially for the beginning player,
this game started with a simple conversation.
Best-selling author and game designer Larry
Bond was saying, "I wish there were an edi-
tion of Harpoon that a father could take home
and play with his son, easily, quickly." The re-
sponse was: "Okay, design it!"
Here it is. Captain's Edition simplifies the
rules and the details of Harpoon into a naval
wargame that can be played by novices in less
than an hour. But each game is different.
Each game is a new insight into modern naval
warfare and an exciting game for two or more
players.
If you are interested in modern naval
warfare, Captain's Edition is the place to
start. If you are an experienced player, this is
the vehicle with which you can introduce new
players to your favorite game.
Harpoon Captain's Edition.
Boxed. Game map. Data cards. Rule book. Stand-up ship counters.
GDW: 0717. $26.00.

DATA ANNEX 1990-91

The key to Harpoon is its authoritative Data
Annex, filled with the details of modern ships,
submarines, aircraft, weapons, missiles, and
electronics. Once the Data Annex 1990-91 is
published, it will be included in every copy of
Harpoon shipped. But if you already have
Harpoon, you can upgrade it by just replac-
ing the old Data Annex with this edition.
Harpoon Data Annex 1990-91.
132-page book.
GDW: 0715. $10.00.
