1. Introduction

Week 2, Thursday
- Read the case description “Look at the facts or
please the consumers?” (2.4.a)
- Study how to make an issue tree. An issue tree
is a tool to support critical reasoning and
analysis (2.4.b)
- Assignment: make a two-level issue tree (see
template on the right) for the case on “Look at
the facts or please the consumers” to answer
the question whether to extend the
reformulation strategy or not. Underpin your
entries with sound arguments. Do not submit
your issue tree yet.
Week 2, Friday
Today you continue with the two-level issue tree that you developed yesterday.
- Assignment: Elaborate the issues that you formulated yesterday, referring to scientific literature
whenever appropriate. Conclude with an underpinned decision on whether or not you would extend
the reformulation strategy or not (see case description 2.4.a).
2. Report
Submit your report on this assignment, including the issue tree and its underpinning (max. one figure
plus 600 words). Please upload your report on BS in 2.4.d latest at Sunday the 14th of June at 11:59 PM
(UTC +2).
3. Grading
You will get a grade for your assignment on the case “Look at the facts or please the consumers?”. This
mark will contribute 20% to your final grade.
