MEDIA UPDATE ON DCS COVID-19 CASES

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Correctional Services is now at 1519, with 573
officials and 946 inmates.

Additional cases only relate to the 23 officials recorded on the day. New cases have been constrained
as daily additional cases seem to be plateauing. Recoveries started at a low base but have been
incremental, which is encouraging.

Officials Inmates Recovries

DCS recorded 22 recoveries in the Western Cape, two (2) in the East Cape and one in Gauteng,
bringing the total to 592. Active cases have thus reduced to 915.
