The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the literature of the past; comprehending
texts using appropriate reading styles; participating in conversations using appropriate context-
dependent expressions; producing English sounds correctly and using the prosodic features of speech
effectively in various situations; and observing correct subject-verb agreement.

LEGEND -
It is a story or narrative from the past or is
believed to have been historical. Legends concern
people, places and events. Usually the subject is a
king, hero or a famous person. It is always
associated with a particular place and a particular
time in history.

Legends are not true, but they are based on facts,
such as real person, a place or event. Legends are
believe to be more recent events and they are
also used to teach lesson in life.

3. Conflict- is the energy of the story. It is struggle
that gives energy to the story.
EXTERNAL CONFLICT- it is a struggle or problem
that takes place between a character and an
outside force. External conflict drives the action
of a plot forward.
INTERNAL CONFLICT- the struggle occurring
within a character’s mind. It is the character’s
struggle to make decision or to overcome some
feelings such as fear, suspicion, hostility or
sadness.

SUBJECT?
4. Theme- life lesson of a story or the author’s
message; the idea the writer wishes to convey
about an important subject. It is expressed in a
sentence
SUBJECT- usually expressed in a word or two.
ex: love, childhood, or death

5. Plot- it is the series of related event that make

INTRODUCTION- also known as EXPOSITION that
tells you who the characters are and usually what
their conflict is.
COMPLICATION- arises as the characters take
steps to resolve the conflict.
RESOLUTION- the final part of the story and this
is when the story’s problem are solved and the
story is closed.
