Restaurant Words features 216 words students may be exposed to when at a restaurant. Activity pages
emphasize word pronunciation, spelling, phonics, definitions, and identification. A pre/post-test in the
form of a make-your-own-menu tests students’ knowledge of restaurants before and after completing
the lessons. As students work their way through the book and its exercises, they will gain knowledge
that will allow them to be more confident and independent while dining in a restaurant. Students
may find using a dictionary with some of the activities helpful.
Restaurant Words is written at a grade 3-4 reading level. It is designed for use in grades 4-12.
