Internal Defect :

100% bars shall be free from internal defects such as Porosity, Piping, Cracks etc and ensured by UST,
Macro exam surface & The Macro structure shall be better than C1, R1 & S1 of ASTM E381 plate -1

Surface Defect :
Material shall be free from Scaling, deep scratches, Laps & seams. All the bars are to be tested for Surface cracks by zigzag grinding.
15 Spectro Test / XRF Test 100% spectro test shall be carried out to identify the mix up if any.
16 Magna flux All the bars shall be 100% tested for surface cracks

10 Samples drawn from different bars of the same heat.The sample size, length=2D and reduce to 0.5D. All the 10 samples shall be free from

surface cracks,seams and laps after upsetting..

18 Step down test Two samples from the lot of the same heat shall be tested as per IS 4075
