Questions for Reflection:

a. What positive behaviors could you identify in the way you communicate?

I identified that I try to use respect and clearness every time I communicate with anyone, either
at work with my coworkers or in my personal life with my friends and family. Also, I identified I
listen carefully to others, helping communication between me and my coworkers be more
effective and more comfortable.

b. What behaviors of yours do you feel need improving?

The point which I considered as a “No” was related to evaluating and setting goals for my peers.
I believe that working on this aspect can help me become a better leader which guides coworkers
and teammates to achieve the project goals effectively and efficiently, maximizing every talent
and skill the team has to offer.

c. How do you think your way of communicating affects people and results?
I believe that by communicating effectively and respectfully, I can create a good work
environment with my peers, leaders, and everyone I interact with. My effective communication
helps keep everything clear, manageable, and trackable. By setting specific goals and measures
to evaluate, I can make sure that all people interacting in the project have their objectives aligned
with those of the project and the organization and making sure everyone has the same
expectations.

d. What factors do you think influence the way you communicate with others?

My sense of transformational leadership has a lot of influence in how I communicate with others.
I always want to make sure everyone has the same vision and the same objectives to achieve the
goals of the organization, the team and the project we are part of.

e. What conclusions can you make based on these observations that will allow you to
improve your communication as a leader, both in the work environment and in your
personal environment?

I can conclude that I should not only focus in what I want to communicate in relation to my
goals, ideas, and measures. I should also focus on what I want to communicate in relation to my
coworkers and teammates. By letting them now my vision and expectations, we can all work
with clear objectives and more efficiently towards the same goals.

Actions to improve:

1. I can make sure to set aside time specifically to tell others my expectations and objectives
regarding their work in the project. I can do this once per week or more regularly,
depending on the nature and length of the project.
2. I can do the same but for myself, analyzing my expectations and objectives regarding my
work in the project. This will give me clarity on what I am doing wrong and right. I can
do this once per week or more regularly, depending on the nature and length of the
project.
3. I can implement measures and frameworks in which I can keep track of these objectives
and goals through time and through different projects using a digital platform to save the
data and access it more easily whenever it is needed in the future. This will give me data
to take better decisions in coming projects and the data can be shared with more people
across the organization.
