1. Present your discussion on the quote and relate it to Human Resource Management “Attitude is the
anchor of the soul, the stimulus to action and the incentive to achievement.”
Attitude defines who we are and what we want. For instance, if someone doesn’t love teaching
and becomes a teacher, she/he will never be passionate to it. In this case, the teacher is just like
getting the job for the sake of having a work or salary. Wherein, if we are committed and love what we
are doing, we become more progressive in terms of development and growth. In addition, if we enjoy
what we are doing and we really work by heart, there will always be good things we will reap.
2. Reflect on this and present your reflection with respect to your recent job “It is often what you bring to
work, not just what your work brings you that make your role exciting, meaningful and challenging.”
Most workers think that works are hard, stressful and tiring when they are facing work
challenges. That’s why if the workers define work as stressful, it is really a stressful one, but if they take
every problem as an exciting one, work challenges solves easily.
During my first time in teaching, it was really hard for me because there are many things I must
do and fulfill. I thought that teacher teaches only, but I was wrong. It is more than teaching and more
challenging than I thought. At first, I felt like giving up and kept on complaining, but I realized that the
more I kept on complaining, the more the work is getting hard. I told myself that I am a teacher and I
love teaching, so I started to love what I have and what teaching gives me.
In relation to the quote above, how we view our work affects our outputs. We work not only for
salary, but also for self-development and for service. Don’t think what the work and workplace can give
to you, instead think of the things you can give and contribute.
3. Given the different qualification standards of various positions in DepEd, what do you think a
commonality one must possesses to make him/her fit to job? Discuss your answer.
The Department of Education is one of the government agencies that shapes the world. We
create individual for the progress of our country. Therefore, an individual who wants to enter the world
of DepEd, should possess the following characteristics:
Dedicated, being a DepEd employee, you must be committed in order to have a better result of
Education.
Enthusiastic, once you are in DepEd, especially if you are a teacher, you must be passionate.
Positive, There are many challenges in DepEd. Despite those challenges, an individual should
always think of the good sides.
Energetic, we all know that the energy is an investment of teachers to perform their works.
Diligent, of all the things and characteristics, being-hardworking is the most important one
because hard work makes an individual achieve goals especially in the teaching-learning process.
4. Present your own understanding about the process on the Omnibus roles on appointment.
Today, applying for a job needs qualifications especially in terms of papers. In every vacancy,
there are numbers of applicants who wish for that position. In order to meet the qualifications there are
those who fake their papers. With this regard, one of the important things in applying is being legalized.
The importance of the Omnibus is for transparency and satisfaction, that the contents of your
documents which you presented are originally yours.
5. Articulate the difference between Managing and a leader.
For me, Managing refers to an act wherein there is an individual who supervise a group or an
organization. For example, in a company, there is a higher person we call as manager, the one who
directs, dictates and presents to the group the things they must do and work in order to achieve their
working goals. In addition, Managing is an act where an individual with higher position checks on the
progress of a work, the workers and the working environment.
On the other hand, a leader is someone who manages and leads an organization or a group.
For instance, there are circumstances that a group are facing the leader will be the first one to act and
ask his/her colleagues the solutions for that problem. He/she performs first for the others to follow
him/her.
In short, Managing and a leader are attached with each other because a leader who is effective
in managing achieves goals and objectives easier. If a leader has good managing qualities, the better
result and working environment he/she will have.
