Drawing Task 1:
Weaving
You will be experimenting with how you can fragment your
artwork based on using your own observational
drawing/photo/secondary source image

PLAN which photos/pictures you will use to draw from and

use – make sure these match your chosen Fragment theme

each drawing)
PHOTOCOPY/PRINT OUT you can either photocopy your
drawings to experiment with the weave technqiue (do not
use the original drawings to weave with)
OR
Print out a picture which matches your Fragment theme,
this can be one of your own photos or alternatively find a
relevant picture in a magazine

Cut your drawing/photo/print out neatly into equal strips of

paper. You can choose the width of the strips (they can be
equal or one picture may have wide strips and the other
narrow strips. Draw the lines on the back of your drawing
with a ruler to ensure when you cut it is neat and even and
hopefully prevent making a mistake when you cut them
Finally arrange the strips into a woven fragmented abstract
image – watch the videos for guidance!
