Brief

Best of Threee is a newest infotainment TV - YouTube show hosted by three


morning television show hosts; Sameer Mani Dixit, Ashesh K Sharma and Sareeta
Shree Gyawali.

Theme

The hosts with their varied background and expertise reflect on what is happening
around in Nepal and the World. The host discuss, debate and deliberate over these
issue trying find a possible positive solutions and situations. Although the tone and
feel remains casual the show remains committed to bring important issues for
discussions through the digital platform.

The hosts also invite various guests from all over the world to make the
conversations relevant and entertaining for the viewers. Special focus will be made
to use the entire social media platform to make this show very engaging and
interactive with the targeted demography all over the world.

The digital platform remains the most dynamic and growing platform and YouTube
is by far the largest video sharing site—nothing even comes close to it.

Over 2 Billion logged-in users visit YouTube each month.

Every day people watch over a billion hours of video and generate billions of
views.

Get this: YouTube has over 1 billion users.

Those billion users account for over 4 billion video views  a day.

You can find literally any type of audience on YouTube, which means that just

Nepal also is catching up in digital world. With 96% of Nepali households now
owning mobile phones, the country is fast reaching phone saturation. Of those with
the devices, 61.5% have smart phones, and this proportion is expected to spike
sharply in coming years. (Source: Nepaltimes)

The recent Nepal Media Survey from Sharecast Initiatives indicates that past two
years has been the explosive growth in YouTube use – up from virtually zero in
2018 to 34% last year, and then almost doubling to 60% in this year’s survey. (See
graph, below)

Target viewers

Therefore the show is designed for Nepali viewers at home but will also target the
huge diaspora abroad. The show has been designed as a more suitable medium and
a better designed platform for brand association and Public Relation as most
current shows and the contents are popular but lack larger social acceptability.
The show will also look for cross promotions and cross platform release to ensure
the larger user base from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are also reached and
retained as regular viewers.

platform to invest. Also, as the hosts are already established names on television
and have a great mass recognition and acceptance.

Now the show is open for collaborations for advertisements and promotions for
consumer brands, products and other social initiatives by various organizations.
These options can be discussed and mutually agreed in multiple formats as per the
requirements and budget.

Suitable notes:

 At present only 26% of Nepalis use the internet on a daily basis, but as more
people upgrade to data phones, and to better connectivity and bandwidth, the
online population will grow – with implications for society, politics and the e-
retail economy.

 Still, YouTube has a lot of catching up to do, as nearly nine million Nepalis now
have Facebook accounts . The survey showed that 88.7% of respondents were on
Facebook. But this was only a marginal increase from last year, which may
suggest that the platform is maxing out. Answers to a multiple-choice question
revealed that 35.6% are also on Messenger and 7% on WhatsApp, both owned
by Facebook.

 There are significant differences in the demographics of Facebook and YouTube


users. City-dwellers tend to be on YouTube more (71%) than villagers (48%),
and only 22% in Far Western province say they watch videos there (possibly
because of lack of bandwidth).

 Perhaps most surprising is that YouTube channels are most popular among
people above 60 — could it be that older people are clicking on religious
programs?
