COMMUNITY VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
CONFERENCENovember 5 – 8, 2019

known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, DepEd
MIMAROPA Region through the Curriculum and Learning
Management Division (CLMD) conducted the 2019
Regional Schools Press Conference with the theme
“Empowering Communities Through Campus Journalism”
last November 5 – 8, 2019. This years’s RSPC was held
at Angel’s Hills Foundation Inc.
Calapan City’s delegation heads include PSDSs Ma’am Liberty Lacdao, Ma’am Cristina Foja,
Ma’am Ma. Teresa Delos Reyes and Sir Joey B. Gutierrez, Ph. D.
The armed blue anowever, Ma’am Jasmin G. Rayos and Maam Leslie Ann D. Sanchez attended
the Facilitators’ Meeting at 9 AM at St. Therese Hall, which was facilitated by Ma’am Edna C. Oabel,
Regional Supervisor In- Charge of Campus Journalism / EPS – CLMD.
Our delegation heads include the four PSDSs Ma’am Liberty Lacdao, Ma’am Cristina Foja, Ma’am
Ma. Teresa Delos Reyes and Sir Joey B. Gutierrez, Ph. D.
OPENING PROGRAM
Ma. Katrina Sandra A. Magcamit , Ph.d and Joey B. Gutierrez, Ph.D, served as the Masters of
Ceremony. Caminawit Elementary School of SDO Occidental Mindoro led the Doxology.
Ma’am Mariflor B. Musa, CLMD Chief gave her welcome address while Ma’am Anabelle Marmol
presented each participating divisions.
Sir Benjamin Paragas served as this year’s keynote speaker and highlighted these words to SPAs
and Cjs – “ To write only what is true, what is good and what is beautiful.”

After the opening program, the participants were advised to take their dinner. The contest
facilitators, the Regional Technical Working Group and the RASSPA and RAESPA officers were advised to
return to St. Therese for another meeting.
Calapan City was awarded as Best in Regional Schools Press Conference Uniform, Most
Organized Delegation, Most Disciplined Delegation and Well Represented Division.
Group Contest - Collaborative and Desktop Publishing, Online Publishing, Radio Scriptwriting and
Broadcasting and TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting were held during the first day.
Individual Contest - Campus Journalists vied for the #tuguetheregoals for the National Schools
Press Conference as they write their hearts out for various contest categories such as News Writing, Photo
Journalism, Editorial Writing and Cartooning, Column Writing, Feature Writing, Science and Health Writing,
Copyreading and Headline Writing and Sports Writing. Individual contests were done during the second
day.
The awarding of Most outstanding School Paper advisers also took place on the night of Nov. 6,
where Riza O. Villanueva , SPA from Holy Infant Academy and Ma’am Vanessa Matchimura, SPA from
Adriatico Memorial School were hailed as finalists for the night.
Community Vocational High Schools’ (CVHS) journalists got awards. They are as follows:
Jean Manriel C. Daquis – 2nd Place, Copyreading and Headline Writing, English
Guine B. Reyes – 2nd Place, Column Writing, English
WE ARE UNBREAKABLE. Community Vocational High Schools’ two school publication Ang Proletariat and
Ang Manggagawa garnered various awards, which placed them in the rank as 2 nd and 3rd Best School
Papers in MIMAROPA Region.
