Course Title : Engine Fundamentals and Engine System
Course Credit : 5 units: 2 hour lecture 9 hours laboratory per week: total of 198 hours/semester
Prerequisite : none

Course Description:

This course covers the history, theory, construction, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of automobile and internal combustion engines and related systems.
Topics include history of automobile, shop safety, fundamental operating principles of engines and its systems.

Course Intended Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the semester, the students are expected to:


1. define and describe the emission and its environmental effect;
2. conduct, set and service emission test equipment, emission testing for gasoline and diesel; and
3. demonstrate work values and maintain integrity of conduct in the workplace.
