BaZi Star/God – Eating God (食神)

Is food really the only thing in his mind ? There is a Chinese saying “Man Yi Sik Wai Sin” (eating
is people’s first priority), this star is closely related to creation of food in oppose to eating it. This
has everything to do with enjoyment, fantasizing, dreaming, a very internalized skill.
Traditionally, food creation is the highest form of art, the ability to blend color, fragrance and
taste together in multitude of way that is pleasing to he look, magnetic to the smell and awesome
to the taste bud. This person will need to be very creative in usage of ingredient, how to combine
them, how to separate them. In the modern world we can describe such person is of high IQ. This
separate between those that have knowledge and those that used knowledge.
Knowledge is just potential power, Eating God is the master of using it.

Creativity, eccentricity and perfectionist are some term that is closely related to Eating God. They
are often introvert and appearing not to share stuff or to remain secretive. Main reason is that
you do not understand their world, they know you won’t understand, so the don’t want to waste
precious time that can be spend to perfect their work in to explaining thing that you will not
understand. They are very prone in spinning in circle, so do not expect result to come out
instantly. They are very open to exploration of idea, trying out new branches. You can often see
this in artist, writer, inventor … many project or peaces is keep under wrapped and was never
“finish” or live to see the light of day.

Jia (甲) Wood, Yi (乙) Wood

Variety is a good word to use in describing Wood as an Eating God. Creativity just branch out,
one idea lead to another. Trimming is always call for when dealing with wood EG, you will need
to direct the growth or branch of idea. Take good note on the term taking root for a wood EG,
once an idea take form, they can turn stubborn and channel too much resource into it. You need
to manage the branch/shrub and manage the root, not an easy one to master/handle.

Bing (丙) Fire, Ding (丁) Fire

Refreshing idea. Fire Eating God offer such relieve to the world. Their idea is like sunshine and
candle light in the dark, you may pun it as brilliant. They can just come out with something new
and often out of nowhere. This is a true inventor. The very mention of fire actually scare people,
so is the same with their idea. They are often provocative and revolutionary and change many
people life. Apply some protection to your idea, both commercially (patient) and socially. Its is
relatively easy to steal from a fire EG, they are prolific sharer.

Wu (戊) Earth, Ji (己) Earth

Down to earth, the boring of the brother element. They do not come out with new stuff, rather
spend time building on old and existing, making it solid. You can find them in abundance in
principle related subject like philosophy and religion. Making layer is what they like to do,
patience is their virtue.

Geng (庚) Metal, Xin (辛) Metal

Practical is their core modus operandi. Their idea is clean and without fluff, like a well sharpen
knife. Design and to do one single task, getting the job done. Of the entire lot of EG, Metal offer
the best in term of utility and everyday application. Try not to let them solve world hunger issue,
cause they will come out with the best bomb to reduce population. For a creator, metal think the
least, simplicity push them forward.

Ren (壬) Water, Gui (癸) Water

Fringe thinker of the lot. They love to encompass everything into their thinking, think where no
one has think before. Sometimes think themselves into nowhere. Fluid and non bounded, give
them a small crack and they will eventually brake the entire dam. You need space exploration,
they should be your prime candidate. They are the best friend of the unknown, The dark and
scary corner excite them. Fictional writer and comic writer, you should find them aplenty there,
creating an entire universe at a stroke of a pen.
Have fun creating a brand new world, remember to sell those idea out, don’t keep them in the
dungeon that do not benefit anyone.

Eating God can be taken literally like liking good food and banquets?

Someone that works in F&B would be helpful to have EG?

If a male has EG in spouse palace, does it mean he like the EG type of spouse? Thank you

Typically would love home cook food, have artistic deco for house, fantasies a lot and
love to have sex.

Eating God can also represent chubby cheeks? Deng LiJun had EG on HS and she looks chubby
and cute. Maybe that’s why she also was one of the greatest singers of all time

Hi Kevin, if someone has EG on the heaven stem but only HO in the hidden stem, will that
person exhibit the characteristics from both EG and HO or is it like a 20/80 thing?

You will be seeing him as a introvert, very cultured and reserve but in actual dying to
burst out and tell you stuff. Earn his trust and he will tell you thing… Can become your
most valuable informant.

The % thing is created to make people comfortable, since our school condition us to
recognized %, some of us also include % so less question is raised. In actual there is no %
you will exhibit both character, just that HS is more obvious while branch is more lasting.

Good day sir, I was advise to focus more on my EG, I was wondering which among the
description of your post fits me. My DM is metal(weak) and dominated by water. So should I
base my EG on my Dm or the dominating element?

Hi Kevin, since eating god is linked to creativity, does it count if you loved to draw and/or do
arts and crafts? I loved to draw on everything and everywhere when I was younger, as well as
arts & crafts. I’m confused since I have literally no eating god in my chart and my luck pillars
doesn’t contain it either during those periods….

Drawing can be new or just a copy … depend actually.

I don’t have EG as well … but then I am good with absorb and rearrange … no creativity is
necessary. Lolz

Lol, does it matter? I think it was just drawing what I see, people, nature. Sometimes
new, sometimes copy. For crafts though, it’s mostly creation since you don’t have the
same materials. I think back then, if you asked me what I want to do, I would have said
artist. Thank god I grew out of that period, otherwise my mom will be nagging at me for
not having a decent job now. I do have Bing though, the backup eating god, haha.

hi Kevin, question about EG..my daughter is 7 and she is extremely talented in arts, draws
well lot of details. She has EG in her Year branch hidden branch. in month she has HO hidden
branch also with DO heavenly. in her Luck pillar she has 10 years of EG hidden branch luck.
Should she pursue a career of arts or what can i help her to pursue in terms of talents and

Creativity is not just art. Output can produce without fact. Be creative in a field that can
make a living … artist (drawing) usually only get notice when they die. Virtual Reality
environment design … that might have a much brighter future

Hi there, what does it mean to have HO and Eating god flanking the day master at the
heavenly stems, however the eating god is not rooted (ie not present in the earthly branches).
The HO is rooted in the spouse palace and also within the year pillar of a dragon. How is the
output quality of the person like?

Anything on stem give perception … people think he/she is a creative person. It’s depend
on what is being red and what the focus point … reading output is not much of a used
unless you know what is the output is going to be used for.
