Thank you for the opportunity to assess your company and recommend data driven decision

making strategies. The analysis and recommendations below are based on my review of your

company. The analysis below is based on information provided by your staff. Therefore,

our recommendations should be tempered by your knowledge of business realities and your

market. Please let us know if we can answer any questions concerning these

recommendations.

Company Overall Analysis

The company need to collect the necessary data to understand why profits are decreasing and

how they can improve that data. The key stakeholders consist of the customers and employees. The

customer needs to be involved because they are the reason why the company will increase in profits

and their loyalty is important. By conducting a survey on what need to be improved and how, we can

understand what needs to be changed. The employees are necessary because without them the

company wouldn’t succeed. With the help of the employee we can see what they believe would be

best in changing.

Data process

After analyzing all the necessary data and information, I recommend to study what caused the

company’s profit margins to decline. By collecting the correct Quantitative data, we can get the

necessary numbers of how many beverages, produce, condiments, etc. to understand which would sell

most.

We also need the Qualitative date to see which stakeholders best fit for the duty in conducting

the right steps to bring the company’s profit margins up rather than down. The benefits of using Key

Performance Indicators for this company is the ability that the stakeholders can know in how the

company is going in any area that needs improving. It can be a long process but it’s the necessary

steps in improving the company’s profit.

Data Collecting

Quantitative data should be collected and stored in certain stakeholders’ files and

then be distributed in the form of a data visualization. To get a bigger picture on how that

data is affecting the company. We should focus on 12-18 months of the past data and see

where we start to see the decline. By focusing on that time frame, we can get a realistic

sense of understanding where we need improving.

The necessary question to ask would be “how many beverages did we sell in the

last 12 to 18 months?”, “what brand of cereals/grains was sold the most?”, and “how can

we improve this data?”. By asking the right people we can get all this question answered.

With the help of KPI’s we can achieve the necessary data to succeed in improving the

company’s profit margins.

The Analyze, Implement and Act of the 5 step Business process do apply. By

hiring me, we have achieved the first step, Analyze, and when completed we can state the

problems. Then by having me, we can implement, by conducting research and collecting

the right data. Then once all that data is gathered, we can act, by making the appropriate

decision making.

Data visualization

A single source of truth is a central and controlled source of data from which the

whole company can draw. Without this, staff would need to manually input data from

different systems and have those systems produce different numbers. By single sourcing,

we’re provided with the best value and it will not waste our time. We will trust that the

data that is being provided is controlled and can be share within a company.

Data visualization is an important valuable tool for the company’s data. With so

many different data visualizations to choose from, the company has a variety of charts

and graphs to settle on with the different data that need to be collected. The design step of

the 5 step Business process would apply here. By designing the correct chart/graph to get

the right information out there. Once all that data is collected and viewed then we can act

in getting the company’s profit margins up.

SELF ASSESSMENT

From completing the project, I learned how data is collected and how to collect

that data. I learned that the 5 step Business process plays a big role in data collecting and

how it would be applied to each individual company/business. I learned that the company

needs a single source can control and provided the easiest access to the employees in the

company.

With a single source we can grantee that all the data is view the same within the

company. Data visualization is a key role in understanding the data in a form of a

graph/chart. By having that data visualization, we can get a bigger sense of what we need

to improve and what is the most profitable thing in the company. KPI’s also played a big

role in collecting and distributing the correct data for the company.
