Formula for class boundary:-

=lower class limit – 0.5 d.
=upper class limit – 0.5 d.
Formula for class mark:-
lower class limit + upper class limit / 2.

Q2:- Explain Following Terms:-

Class Limit:-
“Class limits are the numbers that separate classes without forming gaps
between them. Class boundaries are the least and greatest numbers that can
belong to the class. For integer data, the corresponding class limits and class
boundaries are the same”.

Example:-
Class limits are the smallest and largest observations (data, events etc) in each
class. Hence, each class has two limits: a lower and upper limit. Example: Class
Frequency 300 – 399 13 400 – 499 20 500 – 599 7 600 – 699 3 700 – 799 12
800 – 899 8 900 – 999 7.
Class boundary:-
“When we have different classes of data, there is always an upper and a lower
class limit for it i.e. the dataset has a smallest and largest value. Class boundary
is the midpoint of the upper class limit of one class and the lower class limit of
the subsequent class”.

Class mark:-
“A value represented by the mid value of a class interval”.

Class interval:-
“The size of each class into which a range of a variable is divided, as
represented by the divisions of a histogram or bar chart”.

Example:
You measure the length of leaves on a rose bush. Some are less than 1 cm, and
the longest is 9 cm. You then put the lengths into groups.

A class interval of 2 cm has these groups:

• 0 cm to just below 2 cm,
• 2 cm to just below 4 cm,
• 4 cm to just below 6 cm,
• 6 cm to just below 8 cm,
