Dear Caesar II technical department.

The following query represents a very both uncomfortable and delicate issue for our piping and
piping stress department here in TR.

Due to several recurrent comments in the stress reports and Caesar II calculations of one of our
biggest projects, a client representative is rejecting all calculations based on a misunderstanding
related to the temperature input of the software.

Sadly, owing to a lack of basic knowledge of the software, this person is strongly stating that the
design temperature SHALL always be introduced as T1 other ways the program miscalculate the
stress results. In other words, in order to be taken properly by the software (according to him
because CAESAR II is programmed that way) the design temperature (with its corresponding
pressure) should always be introduced in the field 1: corresponding to temperature in the display
of the Edit Operating Conditions dialog box.

After several meetings, discussions and example demonstrations with software results, the person
responsible to review the stress calculations and reports refuses to approve them until recieve
confirmation from Hexagon’s CAESAR II Technical Support team.

As you may understand due to the stage of engineering development and size of the project,
incorporating this change (switch positions of the operational and design cases in CAESAR II) in the
C2 files and stress reports suppose a dramatic impact in engineering working hours.

From the stated above we kindly request an explicit response in order to close this issue.

Best regards.
