1) Develop at least three hypotheses that correspond to the research questions.

H1 : Customers will spend more if the employee is dressed professionally.

H2 : Females will spend more than males if the employee is dressed professionally.

H3: Customers will spend more if the employee use hard close method.

2) Test the hypotheses using an appropriate statistical approach .

ANOVA is a statistical approach that is appropriate to the hypotheses described above. ANOVA, is a
statistical method that separates observed variance data into different components to use for additional
tests. A one-way ANOVA is used for three or more groups of data, to gain information about the
relationship between the dependent and independent variables.

3. Suppose the researcher is curious about how the feelings captured with semantic differentials influence
the dependent variables SPEND and KEEP. Conduct an analysis to explore this possibility. Are any
problems present in testing this?

I’m really sorry sir my laptop did not have SPSS software. So i can not make get result based on SPSS.

4) Is there a role for factor analysis in any of this analysis?

Factor analysis is a technique that is used to reduce a large number of variables into fewer
numbers of factors. This technique extracts maximum common variance from all variables and puts them
into a common score. Factor analysis is part of general linear model (GLM) and this method also assumes
several assumptions: there is linear relationship, there is no multicollinearity, it includes relevant variables
into analysis, and there is true correlation between variables and factors.

5) Critique the experiment from the viewpoint of internal and external validity.

Internal validity is a way to measure if research is sound (i.e. was the research done right?). It is
related to how many confounding variables in certain experiment. In this experiment , they try avoid
confounding variables, so the internal validity is high.

6) What conclusions would be justified by management regarding their employee appearance policy?

What can I conclude, the findings indicate that this retailer should follow the adjustable dress code
because unprofessional attire culminated in higher costs than rather than if employee was dressed
professionally. However, management must re-evaluate this study on the nature of the experiments used
and the samples used.

Based on the experiment, there are several, variables were collected following the experiment that tried to
capture how the subject felt during the exercise. All of those items were gathered using a 7 semantic
differential scale.
