Summary of Text
Many families would go through a difficult immigration process
because of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. Kim as many
other immigrant became a paper son. As an adult, he also
created a book that coordinated their family stories for

own family. Sam Louie son of Kim revealed how he discovered
a transcript of interrogation questions that his mother went
through. Yet, parents never spoke to their children of this
painful experience.
