LESSON PLAN

Institution: Baltazar Salazar Duration of the class: 2 hours

Place: Rionegro, Antioquia

Course: Sixth grade Elementary school Students’ age: Between 11 and 14
years old
Subject: Mathematics Topic: The Fractions

Objective:
• Distinguish the different contexts of the fraction as part-whole.

• Make use of the fraction as an operator, in the analysis of problem situations.

• Establish equal relations between fractions through equivalent fractions.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION TIME

class contents:
Different meanings of the fractional (Part-all, operators and
measures) and graphic representations of rectangular and non-
rectangular fractional, framed for the process Fraction as a measure,
Fraction part all, Fraction operator and the sub-process Numbers,
representations and uses From the development of Numerical
Thought and Numerical Systems, where it is intended to aim at
strengthening the DBA Multiply or divide the numerator and
denominator of a fraction by the same number to make it equivalent
to another and understand the equivalence in different contexts.
Understand that saying "Out of every 21 candidates 12 are elected"
is equivalent to saying "Out of every 7 candidates 4 are elected"

Presentation:
The class will comprise three moments:

Activation of Prior Knowledge: This moment will be carried out

through the visualization, understanding and analysis of the Initial
Video where situations with fractions are modeled and a record of
this conceptual approach will be left in the group work material
with the proposed Class Objectives formulated by the students.
Conceptual approach, this moment will be done through the
generation of guiding questions that are “what differences are
observed between the two groups of images” and “how are the
objects divided into each group of images” there will be introduced
sequentially in 3 activities and the concepts of fraction,
amplification, reduction, equivalent fractions will be built with the
students.
Application of Knowledge: For this moment in the students a
concept of fraction has already been created that responds to the
objectives of the class which will be applied in the course of it, thus
consolidating the individual construct of the subject addressed
through group interactions, and since the evaluation is a permanent
training process we will use the interactive resource and group work
material "Workbook" as an Evaluation tool, we will finally reach
the feedback and assignment of autonomous work using the student
material as a reference.

The didactic sequence for the class is established as: Introduction

→ Development → Socialization → Summary → Homework,
through the video of Introduction and the construction of the
possible Class Objectives, the development of the Activities, 1.
Fraction Part All. 2. Fraction as a measure. 3. Fraction as Operator,
Simplification and Amplification. The socialization of results is
made after the explanation and clarification of the concepts in the
OVA. The summary is made by observing and analyzing the Video
"Fractions: Troncho and Poncho", available online
Practice:
