Accuracy Assessment & Mapping
OBJECTIVES:
1. To assess the accuracy of parametric and non-parametric image classification
2. To create map based on classified images.
Data Sources :
1. Unsupervised classification images as produced in Lab 4 (or Lab 4a).
2. Supervised classification images as produced in Lab 5 (or Lab 4b).
INSTRUCTIONS:
I. Accuracy Assessment
1. Display supervised classification image produced in Lab 5.
2. In Raster tab, select Accuracy Assessment under Supervised. (Refer to Figure 6.1)

II. Mapping
3. From Layout tab, Set Page Size or select the size of map from the group of Map
Template.
4. Click Insert Map Frame , drag and hold the frame within the screen of map view.
5. Select the data to fill in the map frame based on viewer (refer to Figure 6.4) or drag the
data from the viewer and insert to the map frame.
6. Click inside the View and Map frame dialog will appear (refer to FIgure 6.5). Select
option of Change Scale and Map Area (Maintain Frame Area). Drag box in 2D View
(enlarge and shrink th box by dragging the corners).
B. Map Annotation
2. Click Map Grid button and click at the image in rectangular shape. Then, click
Horizontal Axis and click Copy to Vertical and click Use Full Grid. Repeat this process
and click at Vertical Axis then Copy to Horizontal. Select Use Full Grid and then click
Apply button. (Refer to Figure 6.7)
3. To insert scale bar, click Scale Bar button and select the representative unit for the
map (e.g. kilometers), click Apply. (Refer to Figure 6.8)
4. Insert Legend by Legend command button . Then, click at the image. In Legend
Properties window, click Class Names and select the features. (Refer to Figure 6.9)
5. Insert the tite of the map. Click Tab drawing-icon to insert text. in , select
convert to text.
6. Adjust and rearrange the maps element (annotation) appropriately. (Refer to Figure
6.10)
