TOPIC: SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

What it is?
In Chapter 5 of a research paper where summary of finding is discussed, B. Fischer, M.
Gray, R. Johnson, K. Kistere, T. Levinsjas, B. Percy & N. Piotrowski, (2008) said that you are
required to evaluate your own work and provide personal insights and interpretation of the
results. However, this does not mean that you give your opinions as you wish. Insights and
interpretation should be based on the constraints of scholarly writing in which you mention what
the study means to you and what it means to the field of practice, to previous research and people
interested in your study.
According to Pargai (2009), Finding means results or data which we obtain after
conducting a set of experiments while conclusion means what we can conclude from that result
and data. He also stated that findings remain same for a study but conclusion may vary according
to the need.

How to Write it:

1. This section serves as a brief restatement of the components of the research paper.
This section includes:
 Main purpose of the study,
 the type of research used,
 respondents and sampling,
 the locale of the study ,
 Research instrument
 The major findings of the research.
 However, the restatements should be straightforward but still meaningful.
 The statements should be written in a way that the questions under the statement
of the problem are expressed first followed by the findings that would answer it.
2. The findings should be textual generalizations that is a summary of the important data
consisting of text and numbers.
3. Every statement of fact should consist of words, numbers or statistical measures woven
into a meaningful statement.
 They should be stated as concisely as possible
4. Only the important findings, the highlights of data should be included in the summary.
5. .Findings are not elaborated nor explained anymore.
6. No new data should be introduced in the summary of findings.
My Conclusion
Summary of Findings is the summary or brief explanation of the findings or result that
we have gathered in our study. The summary of findings includes answers to your research
problems. No need for a long interpretation of the data, just input the important information.”
TOPIC: CONCLUSION

What it is?
A conclusion is the last paragraph in your research paper, or the last part in any other type
of presentation. The conclusion is intended to help the reader understand why your research
should matter to them after they have finished reading the paper. A conclusion is not merely a
summary of your points or a re-statement of your research problem but a synthesis of key points.
For most essays, one well-developed paragraph is sufficient for a conclusion, although in some
cases, a two-or-three paragraph conclusion may be required.
The conclusion is the last, yet not the easiest part of a research paper. It must summarize
the whole paper and explain its main purpose. This section also shouldn’t sound too dry. Any
conclusion consists of a few elements, so you can choose different approaches depending on
your agenda and the paper type.
It contains insights drawn from the findings of each problem. These insights answer the
questions presented at the beginning of the research paper.
Conclusions are inferences, deductions, abstractions, implications, interpretations,
general statements or generalizations based upon the findings. They should not contain any
numerical.

How to write it?

A conclusion is, in some ways, like your introduction. You restate your thesis and
summarize your main points of evidence for the reader. You can usually do this in one
paragraph.
• It should not contain any numeral.
• It should be based upon the findings.
• It should appropriately answer the specific questions raised at the beginning of the
investigation
• It should point out what were actually observed.
• It should be formulated concisely, that is, brief and short, yet it convey all the necessary
information resulting from the study as required by the objectives.
• It should be worded in such a way to convey the message that your findings are 100%
correct.
• Avoid using such term like possibly, may, perhaps and if.
• It should not be repetitious of any statements anywhere in the thesis.

My Conclusion
In this part of research, drawing conclusions is done by looking into your findings.
Conclusions are based on the interpretation the results. We need to give all our findings base on
our study and it is important that we are honest enough in writing our conclusion
TOPIC: RECOMMENDATIONS
What it is?
In the last chapter of any research paper, the summary of findings and conclusions are
discussed. Eventually, recommendations is presented next. According to Copland (2016), can be
defined as a critical suggestion regarding the best course to provide a beneficial guide that will
not only resolve certain issues but result in a beneficial outcome. Recommendations can be
different and are heavily dependent on the situation that arose.
Recommendations means a suggestion that something is good or suitale for a particular
purpose or job. It urge specific actions to be taken with regard to policy, practice, theory or
subsequent research. They are specific suggestions that you make with regard to further research
on the topic. For instance, you can make recommendations on subsequent research that can be
conducted, especially, if there is an interest in generalizing the findings beyond the study’s
parameters. You may have identified gaps in the literature that should be addressed, to which
your study may or may not have contributed.
Serve as practical suggestions for future research in similar field. They are envisioned to
further improve the pertinent variables that were the subject of the investigation undertaken.

How to write it?

When preparing this section, remember that in making your recommendations, you must show
how your results support them. A recommendation for a preferred alternative should include:

• Recommendations should aim to solve or help solve problems discovered in the

investigation
• No recommendation should be made for a problem, or anything for that matter, that has
not been discovered or discussed in the study.
• There may also be recommendations for the continuance of good practice or system, or
even recommendation for its improvement.
• Recommendations should aim for the ideal but must be feasible, practical, and attainable.
It is useless to recommend the impossible.
• Recommendations should be logical and valid.
• Recommendations should be addressed to the persons entities, agencies or offices who or
which are in a position to implement them.
• There should be a recommendation for further research on the same topic in other places
to verify, amplify, or negate the findings of the study.

My Conclusion:
The recommendation part in the research can provide possible applications of your
research. It also gives suggestions to other researchers to further study other variables which
can applied related to your study.
