Introduction

Career management is sequential process involves the planning a person activities as well as

engagement within job to fulfillment, growth and financial stability. Employees and Employers

are two parts of career Management. Other elements of career management include career

planning, which consists of strategic planning, self-assessment and self-development.

Issues and Challenges in Career management:

According to the Employees

• Knowledge update is a biggest Challenge in the Career Management. According to the

requirement the employee need the update their knowledge through the training

• Ensure the availability of accurate information about the organization

• Details availability of various occupations existing in the organization to the new

employee.

• Less Sponsor educational and training programmes from organizations for ensuring

supply of potential talent in future.

• Development related to the goals as well as the objective is needed for a good career

• · Developing and updating regarding to specific   means (Rules and policies, procedures  

as well as activities) is mandatory.

• · Systematic-evaluation   about   progressing   towards   achievement   about selected

objective and goals that having to be done by Employers as well.

• Appropriate Reward system should be maintained.

According to Employers

• Teams play have a very important role in career management, while building the team for

a particular project it should be taken care.

• the organizational careers can be improved through job rotation, internship, visit to

different units, seminars, etc. But most of the time employees are not adopting the

privileges.

• Effort for the Identification of the best possible talent will not work for some cases.

• Career management strategies making people more competitive in today’s job market,

but most of the employees are not understanding that.

• Most of the employees are finding safe zone in Continuing with current skills which they

have.

• Employees showing less responsibility to Develop new skills and competencies either in

depth or breadth, according to their interest.

• Leadership have an important role in Career Management.

• Lifelong learning is important for an employee for the career management, but most the

employees will stop the learning process once they started a good career.

• Employees need to Develop a good strategy for their career

• Systematic   evaluation   of   the   progress   toward   the   achievement   of   the   selected

goals / objectives has to be done by the Employees as well.

• Self –Assessment should be done by each employees

• Quality of work life should be evaluated by the employees and should be updated to the

concerned management.

• On the employers side this is resulting within the continuing trends related to increased

“un-desired” turn-over

• Employees should be passionate about their career.

Conclusion

The employee input is recognized as the most effective for maximum output and efficiency of

any organization. Many organizations have a different department to evaluate the career of each

employee in an organization. Most of the employees are changing jobs and career more

frequently for their personal requirements, this will be challenging as well as jobs seeker which

must really thinking of the career they will seen themselves in long term. Making a careers

changes are not something that a person want to be doing a lot of times over which may cause

issue for both employees and employers.
