PROBLEM STATEMENT/ISSUES :

1. The influence of fashion on the young generation from celebrity lives and movies that
they watch.
 Natalie Roytman (2014) mentioned that celebrities greatly influence fashion
choices of the youth because celebrities signify ideal beauty. It seems as
though they look amazing everywhere, they go, whether it be to the grocery
store or to a red-carpet event. Young people strive to keep up with the latest
fashion trends, and celebrities happen to be one of the highest influences of
modern fashion. Style is always changing and the youth want to make sure
they are always up to date with it. Young people want to look their best, so
they look to celebrities in order to achieve that.

 Sunday Observer (2018) mentioned that most wide spread clothing trends are
first seen when celebrities wear them. Young people get their inspiration from
people who they look up to and who they desire to be like. Social media and
television play a huge role in how celebrities influence the youth. There are
shows dedicated to fashion where the hosts comment on celebrity fashion and
critique styles that they don’t like.

 Samantha Corbus (2009: p 1) agreed with Stone (2007) that from television to
tabloids, celebrity’s lifestyles persuade the general public. Celebrities
influence the general public, especially with their saturation in the mainstream
media. Celebrities are an influence in many ways, because so many people
look up to them and claim to relate with that person. One major influence
celebrity have is in the realm of the fashion industry. Celebrities are often
photographed and videotaped and whatever they are wearing will be conveyed
images to the general public. The styles that they wear influence consumers
and then they begin to copy the styles

 In this modern era, as we know the celebrity lives and movies can give big
impact to the young generation in their living style especially in their fashion.
It is very significant to my studies to determine that celebrity lives and movies
as an icon and fashion trendsetter to young generation either in good or bad
sides that they saw. In digital era, young generation more choose to look
everything through television, magazine and social media in their gadget then
in directly will be followed by them to adapt in daily life either that fashion in
good or bad sides suit for their personality, culture, religion and society.
