PM Modi launches Rs 50,000 crore Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan for Migrant Workers
Highlights
● States with more than 25,000 migrant returnees.
● Currently the campaign will be launched in six states (Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand
and Odisha).
● The programme will run in “mission mode” for 125 days across 116 districts in six states to help migrant workers get
jobs in their home states.
● The campaign will involve intensified and focused implementation of 25 different types of works to provide jobs and
create infrastructure in the rural regions of the country.
● Besides this, twelve different ministries or departments will participate in the programme, which includes, rural
development, panchayati raj, transport, mines, drinking water, environment, railways, petroleum, new and renewable
energy, border roads, telecom and agriculture.
