“WHY 95% OF MUSLIMS WILL

NEVER UNDERSTAND THE QURAN”

Assalamu Alaikum,

I’m Mamoon Yusaf and welcome to this free report: “WHY

95% OF MUSLIMS WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE QURAN.”

In this report I’ve outlined the 7 barriers most Muslims face

when it comes to studying and understanding the Quran in Arabic.
Let’s get started…

1. LACK OF GOALS & DIRECTION

Most of us never think about our Quran goals, let alone

seriously commit to them. We tend to drift in the wind, going
from one Quran activity to another.

To add to the problem, some traditional goal-setting techniques

actually don’t work when approaching the Quran.

In fact, sometimes having the wrong type of Quran goal actually

PREVENTS you from taking action. Confused? You should be...

(There is a very specific way in which you need to set Quran goals,
and a particular way to think about them in order to make
them effective for you... but more on that later)

2. LACK OF A STRATEGIC, RESULTS-DRIVEN PLAN

Holt House, Davenport Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 7LS, GB Page 1

Strategy is so important because you could spend 20
minutes per day reading the Quran for the next 50 years and
still not achieve any of the 3 main Quran goals.

I was once sitting with an alim, brainstorming the different

ways in which we can study the Quran as English speaking
Muslims.

We counted about 13 different activities that you

could do if you have some time to spare. The problem is…

…figuring out which activities should take priority if you are to

reach your Quran goals in the shortest space of time.

There are so many different courses out there, and so many

contradicting opinions about what is most important to study.

Should you start with tajweed, Arabic, or tafsir? Is reading an

English translation more important than memorizing? Which
should come first? And why?

Strategy is an under-appreciated key if you actually want to

achieve your Arabic language goals... For example...

You can study Arabic for years, and even do a degree and
get a 1st, and still not understand the whole Quran, because
your Arabic learning strategy is incorrect.

With the right strategy, you can learn everything you need to know
in a
couple of months, with just 20-25 minutes per day.

We face a similar problem with tafsir. Where do we start? Do

Holt House, Davenport Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 7LS, GB Page 2

we need to learn the entire Arabic language so we can
access tafsir works in Arabic?

Or can we just attend tafsir courses happening in the local mosque?

Are certain portions of the Quran more important to study and
memorise than others? If so, which ones and why?

3. NOT BELIEVING IN YOURSELF

They say the Devil's greatest trick is convincing the world he

doesn't exist. Well, if that's true, then his second greatest
trick is convincing you that can't achieve your Quran
goals...

Have you ever caught yourself saying or thinking...

1. Arabic is soooo hard!
2. I'll never be able to memorise the Quran
3. What if I start this and then give up?
4. What if I fail?
5. It will take years to achieve any of these goals
6. I'm too lazy
7. It's only for scholars, and I'm not a scholar, so I can't
study Quran properly
8. What will people say? How will my family react? Will
people expect me to suddenly become "religious" if I
take on this goal?

If any of these sound familiar, I’ve got some news for you...

It doesn’t matter if you understand intellectually that these

statements are not true – what matters is whether you act as if they
are true.

With modern-day “Peak Performance Psychology”, clearing out
these kinds of ‘limiting beliefs’ is becoming easier and easier – the
first step is to become aware, so…

What are YOUR limiting beliefs about your ability to understand

the Quran in Arabic?

4. FEELING BAD ABOUT YOURSELF, UN-MOTIVATED (OR

“LAZY”)

Sometimes you know what you need to do, but you just can't
get yourself to do it.

We often call ourselves 'lazy', but that's just an excuse we

create so we don't have to face the real causes of our
in-action.

The truth is there are a whole array of negative emotions

that may be blocking us such as anger, sadness, fear, hurt or
guilt.

Often these patterns play out unconsciously, which is

what makes them such a powerful obstacle. According to Carl
Jung “If you don’t make your unconscious conscious, you won’t
be able to change, and you’ll call it ‘fate’”

When it comes to understanding the Quran in Arabic, it’s up to us

to change our ‘fate’ to being among the 5% of people who actually
do reach the goal, insha’Allah.

Maybe you've heard the term "Emotional Intelligence"? If you

want to
achieve your Quran goals, it's time to get some.

The most important part of making a huge shift in the quality

of your life, is to get yourself to stick with your Quran plan
LONG-TERM.

That only happens if you build one key skill:

Get yourself to take action even on days when you don't feel like
it.
This is the key to self-motivation, self-discipline and ultimately
self-esteem.

Strategies for achieving this are beyond the scope of this report,
but keep your eyes on your email for more “Quran For Busy
People” strategies to help you in this area.

5. LACK OF TIME

From an early age, you were taught to chase things. From

school to college to university and then onto the career ladder.
However, there’s no real pressure on you to achieve your own
personal development Quran goals.

Often your Quran goals will take a back seat to: any family
'emergency' like a birth, sickness or death; to your health and
fitness goals; to
any studying you may need to do for your professional
development; and the list goes on...

Sometimes you will have a lot on your plate and you will feel
like you're just too busy to start a new project like

Holt House, Davenport Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 7LS, GB Page 5

understanding the Quran...

You may not have the focus, clarity or motivation to move

forward...

In fact, a lot of people have so much on their minds at any

one moment in time, that they can't focus for 5 minutes
during prayer without having stressful thoughts about paying
the next bill, or making that phone call...

The first thing my clients say when I ask them what's been
stopping them from taking action on their Quran goals is
always... "I just didn't have the time"

In reality, it's not always about 'time' itself. We all have the
same 24 hours in a day...

It's usually more to do with not having the skills to manage

yourself around the time you have available... but we’ll give you
more support on that later…

6. IT’S NOT A RITUAL

(aka. you don't have the ‘STRUCTURE’ OR ‘DISCIPLINE’ to
keep it going)

If you don't already spend a set minimum amount of time

with the Quran everyday, then, like almost every other Muslim on
the planet, you will not achieve any of your Quran goals.

The result is the Start-Stop pattern.

Have you ever gotten really pumped up to study the Quran

Holt House, Davenport Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 7LS, GB Page 6

or read some Islamic books, and then lost your motivation
and stopped half way through?

This happened to me once when I returned home from Umra. I was

determined to read the whole Quran in English, but couldn't even
get through Surah Baqarah for years!

Isn't it frustrating when you look back a few months later at

all the books you half-read, or the Arabic courses you half-
completed,
or the surahs you half-memorized?

When you spend only 20 minutes per day with the Quran, you can
understand it all in Arabic in weeks, go through a complete,
thorough tafsir in months, and memorize it all with excellent
tajweed in less than 5 years.

There are many fail-proof ways to develop a new habit or ritual,

but for now…

Just make a conscious effort to turn your Quran study into a daily
ritual, and the rewards will be immense, insha’Allah.

7. LACK OF RESOURCES

You don't have the teachers, or the courses or the programs

available to you.

Some people are waiting for Shaykh Hamza Yusuf to move in next
door before they start studying the Quran. That's going to be a long
wait!

Holt House, Davenport Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 7LS, GB Page 7

Most of the actual resources you need are easily available for free
or at a very low cost.

Keep an eye on more ‘good stuff’ and future emails from ‘Quran
For Busy People’ and we’ll give you the inside scoop on exactly
which resources you do and don’t need in your mission to
understand the entire Quran in Arabic, so you can more easily
derive guidance from it, insha’Allah.

I hope you found this report useful and it helped you gain clarity
on exactly what’s stopping you from understanding the
entire Quran in Arabic.

Warmest Salams,

Mamoon Yusaf
