ACT OF PROCLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE OF THE FILIPINO PEOPLE

1) The three things that I significantly learned from the readings are…
a) Since education is important, there is special treatment to those who have higher
education to have great impact against the Spaniards while those who haven’t afford to
finish school will be abused and tormented by the unjustified acts.
b) Filipinos were never free from slavery up until today since when the proclamation of
independence was sign. It is the slavery from people of government who are in position
that steal money from our country’s fund but not with the Spaniards.
c) It shows that people before who has power in the society’s hierarchy are only
hypocrite for helping below citizens for their own benefit just like making their own
image good to the public and especially to others’ eyes.

2) The three things that are still unclear to me are…

a) How does sedula have that big effect on the revolution of the Filipinos since it was
just tearing a piece of paper?
b) What are the solutions might the government think of to get the same standards and
treatment with the people of the Spain to us Filipinos and so they will not step down on
us easily?
c) Why do people from our own country were being abused and removing their authority
to own their proprietorship as they are the people of the Philippines and instead use
them as subordinates to increase the trading market?

3) I used to think that…

Equality or same treatment to everyone is one of the most important things to
implement here in the Philippines to have a better country. But as we encounter the
powerful government who only did nothing but corrupt our money and taxes, I guess it
has no distinction with the Spaniards who only abused and destroyed our land.
4) The three questions that I want to ask about the readings are…
a) Fast forward to the present, are we already free from the jail on the hands of the
corrupt and abuse government or still trapped like slaves yet?
b) Is it a good idea to make a revolution again to have new leaders ahead that could
possibly change the Philippines for better with new independency that can benefit all of
us?
c) What would happen if those hundred Katipuneros who sacrificed for us were still
alive? Are we still going to suffer like this or we could have freedom to conquer our own
country?
