LOSS TO PEANUT FAMILY – We are saddened to report the death of Dr. Ernest Harvey, Jr, 84, of Cordele, GA. Dr. Harvey
served as the Director of Seed Research for Goldkist, Inc. and Agratech Seeds. He was a member of the American Society of
Agronomy, American Genetics Society, American Peanut Research and Education Association, Georgia Soybean Association, and
served as the Director of the Georgia Crop Improvement Association. He also worked with The University of Georgia and Auburn
University in seed research and plant genetics. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. At a later date, a private celebration
of life will be held in his memory.
