FLX01000006 - Preptool has not been used on application.
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Offboard Information Products\2012C (or
later version)\Comet.
2. Delete comet.exe and comet_libFNP.dll.
3. Re-launch service tool to perform auto-repair. If not auto-repair does not
proceed, please re-install the service tool

FLX01000020 - Flexnet Licensing service is not running.

1. Right-click on Computer/My Computer and select Manage.


2. Under Services and Applications, select Services.
3. Double-click on FLEXnet Licensing Service and click Start.
Note: If license service does not appear in the list, re-install the service tool.

FLX01000021 – User account does not have enough rights to talk to


FLEXnet Licensing Service.

1. Right-click on Computer/My Computer and select Manage.


2. Under Services and Applications, select Services.
3. Double-click on FLEXnet Licensing Service and click Start.
Note: If license service does not appear in the list, re-install the service tool.

FLX05000031 - A license exists, but the start date is in the future.

1. Right click on the clock in the system tray and select "Adjust Date and Time."
2. Make necessary changes and click "OK."
3. Restart the computer.

FLX05000076 - Corrupted Trusted Storage Files.


1. Go to the following directory

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application


Data\FLEXnet
Windows 7 and 8: C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet

2. Delete files labeled catlmd*


3. Use your current activation ID to Re-activate EST

FLX12050005 - Corrupted license


Delete the following folder and re-launch service tool

32-bit OS: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Offboard Information Products\


64-bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Offboard Information Products\

FLX22051302 - The response file has been altered. Please obtain a


new file from your license.
The user tried to load the Manual Request file as the Manual Response file.
Please obtain the actual Manual Response file created through the DSL website.

FLX24051404 - Issue sending license information to Flexera servers.


Try the Manual Licensing Method
FLX24500001 – Unable to Contact License Server
1. There is no network connection available. Make sure the computer is connected
to the internet and check the PC network connections. The error can also be
caused by a firewall issue.
2. If the computer is connected to the internet but still receiving an error, please
perform the following steps:
3. Click on START menu and choose Run.
4. Type 'cmd' in the box and click OK.
5. Type 'ping dsl.cat.com' and hit ENTER (this will check if the computer is
communicating with the license server).
6. If no error message received, please close service tool, re-launch and attempt to
license again.
7. If an error message is returned or No Host Found message appears, go to an IE
browser and type in https://licensing.cat.com/wba/services/LicenseService. You
should see a screen stating: LicenseService Hi there, this is an AXIS service!
8. If the message does not appear, there is a local network/firewall issue preventing
communication to license server. The Local IT group will need to investigate.
9. If "TTL Expired in Transit" message received, the server or router cannot find the
destination (dsl.cat.com). The Local IT group will need to investigate.
10. If problem persists, please have the user activate using the Manual license
process.

FLX98007109 - The entered activation ID was not found on the license


server.
The Activation ID was not found on the server. Verify the key is valid and try
again. Please verify that the dashes are being used in the Activation ID when
typed in. The Activation ID needs to be typed in lowercase. If problem persists,
please contact your license administrator.

Note: Using copy and paste is the preferred method

FLX98007174 – Activation ID is expired


Contact your License Administrator for a new Activation ID.

FLX98007288 - The entered Activation ID has already been licensed by


another user.
The Activation ID needs to be revoked and replaced, please contact
(esd_support@perkins.com) or the Activation ID is being used by another user. If
being used by another user, please contact your License Administrator for a new
Activation ID
FLX99500000 - Corrupted Trusted Storage files
1. Go to the following directory

3. Use your current activation ID to Re-activate EST

FLX99500003 – Activation ID is already active on this PC.

EST Activation ID Reset


Left Click “Start” and select “Run”

Type cmd and click OK

For Windows XP: In the command prompt window, type

cd C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Offboard Information


Products\Support Files and press Enter

For Windows Vista/Windows 7: In the command prompt window, type

cd C:\ProgramData\Offboard Information Products\Support Files and press Enter

Continue
Type appactutil -view and press Enter.

Locate the Product ID for Perkins EST and the Fulfilment ID

On command line, type appactutil –delete followed by the Fulfilment ID and Enter

Example: appactutil –delete FID_608281c3_131962b2833__7b80

NOTE: Look at the Fulfilment ID very carefully to determine whether a single _ or a double __ is
used, this is very important. You notice that in my example the FID number uses _ (Single) _
(Single) followed by __ (double)

You will receive a prompt showing “Successfully deleted Fulfilment FID_XXXXX

Use your current activation ID to Re-activate EST


FLX99500004 - Flexera license servers did not return all license
information to complete transaction.
Contact the service tool help desk to report issue.

FLX98009999 - The Activation ID used was not created for service


tool.
Please verify the Activation ID is valid for the service tool.

FLX06000010 - EST License has Expired


Contact your Local TIPSS Administrator and request a new License

FLX11500000 - Corrupted Trusted Storage files

How to View Hidden Files and Folders
Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7

• Navigate to C:\ drive


• Go to Tools/Folder options (XP)
• Click Organize and select “Folder and Search Options” (Vista and Windows 7)
• Select the View Tab
• Make sure “Show hidden files and folders” is selected
• Uncheck - Hide extensions for known file types
• Uncheck - Hidden protected operating system files (recommended)

Click on Libraries
Select C:\ drive

Select View and Check “Hidden Items”
