IMPORTANT: This type of paragraph highlights a procedure, adjustment etc., which can cause a
damage or unproper function of the equipment if not performed correctly and may not be clear at
first sight.

Example: This type of paragraph contains information that is used to illustrate how a specific function
works.

InteliMains NT 3.6.0 New Features List 2

2 Changes in the version 3.6.0
2.1 New features
Setpoint Comms settings: Contr. address can be used with the built-in PLC.

2.2 Repairs
MGCB tripping fix
Setpoint MGCBparalClose is set to MCB CLOSED. Controller incorrectly opened MGCB when both
MCB and MGCB were closed, Sys start/stop was inactive and controller mode was changed from the
AUT mode to the MAN mode. It has been fixed.
Wrn BTB fail reset
Wrn BTB fail alarm reset was not possible, if BTB was closed and controller detected generator
controllers at both the left and the right bus, which were linked using the Group link function.
It has been fixed and Wrn BTB fail alarm reset is always possible with BTB closed, unless controller
wants to open it (e.g. mains coupling is not enabled, Breaker open protection is active etc.).

InteliMains NT 3.6.0 New Features List 3

3 Changes in the version 3.5.1
3.1 New features
BreakerOverlap adjustments
AMF settings: BreakerOverlap time counting was changed with BreakerOverlap set to 0,1s.
Controller immediately initiates corresponding breaker tripping to achieve as short as possible parallel
operation. Result is actual internal overlap time 0,1s. It means that in total it takes about 0,3s
between a breaker feedback input activation and tripping output activation, if BreakerOverlap is set
to 0,1s.
BreakerOverlap time count down was adjusted for BreakerOverlap settings 0,3s and higher.
Actual internal overlap time now matches the parameter setting, while it was about 0,1s longer before
the adjustment. The adjustment does not apply to BreakerOverlap setting to 0,2s, the actual internal
overlap time is still about 0,3s with this setting. It is necessary to add about 0,2s to the internal time
to get actual time between a breaker feedback input activation and tripping output activation.

Note: Actual internal overlap time is time of internal parallel operation and does not match physical time of
parallel operation, which is always longer.
Physical time of parallel operation is time between closing of one breaker and opening of the other one. It is
longer than the internal time, because it takes controller time to detect that a breaker was closed, then it takes
controller time to activate tripping output and breaker itself needs some time to open. E.g. Physical time of
parallel operation is about 0,7s + breaker reaction time, if BreakerOverlap is set to 0,5s.

InteliMains NT 3.6.0 New Features List 4

4 Changes in the version 3.5.0
4.1 New features
Support of InteliVision 12Touch.
The settings of the transfer of the load Mains to Gen-set and vice versa in MGCB and MCB application has
been changed.
This function has an influence on the controller behavior in the TEST mode and on the Test On Load
procedure.
The setpoint AMF settings:BreakerOverlap defines the maximum time of the load transfer in both
directions Mains to Gen-sets and Gen-sets to Mains.
When the load is transferred from the Mains to Gen-set (during the Test on Load procedure), the MCB is
opened once the value of the Mains import reaches the window <-5%;+5%> of the setpoint
ProcessControl:NominalMainsImp load but latest when the timer given by the setpoint AMF
settings:BreakerOverlap elapsed.
When the load is transfered from the Gen-sets to Mains (during the Test on Load procedure), the MGCB
(MGCB application only) is opened once the generator power gets under value given by the setpoint
Sync/Load ctrl:MGCB open level but latest when the timer given by the setpoint AMF
settings:BreakerOverlap elapsed. In the MCB application, once the MCB is closed, the gen-sets load is
started to be controlled according to load control settings of the Inteli Mains (System Baseload or
Import/Export) until the TEST mode is active.
If the setpoint AMF settings:BreakerOverlap = 0(NO TIMEOUT) there is no time limitation of the load
transfer. If the load transfer was not finished until the timer Sync/Load ctrl:Load ramp + 10% elapsed, the
alarm WrnTstOnLdFail is issued.
If the setpoint ProcessControl:I/E Pm meas = NONE, then the duration of the load transfer is given
exactly by the setpoint AMF settings:BreakerOverlap.

4.2 Repairs
Wrong alarm text in the alarmlist when "Bus Meas Error" protection gets active (for MCB application only).
Bug has been fixed.
Missing value of AirGate ID in Chinese (IM-NT GC only). Bug has been fixed.

InteliMains NT 3.6.0 New Features List 5

5 Changes in the version 3.4.0
5.1 Repairs
Problem in Automatic priority swapping (for Power management) system was repaired
When the LDS option is selected and a controller is adjusted to the Master role, the controller does not
initiate its master functions and therefore other controllers will not accept its priority changing messages.

InteliMains NT 3.6.0 New Features List 6

6 Changes in the version 3.3.1
6.1 New features
Limit for bus to be considered dead is now set in % of nominal bus voltage (instead of constant limit 15V
@power format in V or 150V @power format in kV)
In MCB, MGCB and FDR applications
There is a new setpoint DeadBusLevel (can be set from 0 to 50.0% of nominal bus voltage given by
the setpoint BusNomV, if there is an invalid value - out of range - the function considers the setting to
be 0%)
The limit is floored to a whole number (@power format in V), the limit is floored to a number with two
decimal places (@power format in kV)
Dead bus breaker closing is disabled by this setpoint if the limit is floored to zero value (e.g. when
there is only 0% or 0.1% set and the calculated limit is 0V). The voltage has to be lower than the
calculated limit to allow dead bus breaker closing
Mains voltage measurement is not affected by this change in any way
In BTB application
There are two new setpoints DeadBusLLevel and DeadBusRLevel (can be set from 0 to 50.0% of
nominal bus voltage given by the setpoint BusLNomV and BusRNomV respectively, if there is an
invalid value - out of range - the function considers the setting to be 0%)
All the rules for the limit calculation apply to this application as well
The default setting is 6.5% which results in 15V limit for the default controller setting

6.2 Repairs
Bug causing controller to reset (Watchdog) event when Mode changing buttons were pushed rapidly on IM-
NT GC front panel was repaired

InteliMains NT 3.6.0 New Features List 7

7 Changes in the version 3.2.0
7.1 New features
Controller power on mode can now be chosen
It is possible to choose which mode (OFF, MAN, AUT, TEST, PREVIOUS) will be activated after the
controller is powered on
The former behavior is equivalent to the setting PREVIOUS
Impulse counters can now be set by logical binary inputs
There are four logical binary inputs and four setpoints that are used to adjust this function

7.2 Repairs
The controller will no longer attempt synchronization when there are no ComAp controllers connected to the
bus
This prevents the controller to enter a state where MGCB is opened and closed periodically
This is only relevant for MGCB application
MCB negative feedback now works properly
From the version 3.1.0 the MCB feedback negative was not working correctly
Now the MCB fdb neg work correctly
Load shedding was not working in Feeder (FDR) application
Load shedding now works correctly
Spontaneous Timer outputs activation repaired
Under specific condition Timer outputs may have activated spontaneously
This behavior is now removed
Test on Load may have been performed with open transfer sequence even though it was possible to perfom
this with closed sequence transfer
This behavior was in most cases caused by presence of more than one mains incomer with
InteliMainsNT controller on one CAN bus
IB-EML-SMS now works correctly
It is possible to send IB-EML-SMS messages via IG-IB, InternetBridge-NT and IB-COM (internal
communication board of NTC controllers)
Please update IG-IB, InternetBridge-NT or IB-COM to the latest version to insure that this function works
correctly

10 Notes
10.1 MCB control from external device
There were no changes in the controller behavior in this regard. This description of behavior is
included for informational purposes only.
Opening of the MCB externally is allowed because external protection device may open it based on its
protections. The controller will try to reclose the breaker if Mains protect type protection is not configured
accordingly (e.g. external protection device/relay does not allow user to send this type of signal or such wiring is
impractical). After failed attempt to close the breaker, the controller issues standard alarm and in AUT mode
starts the engine and consequently closes GCB and/or MGCB breaker.

10.2 MCB fail Information

There were no changes in the controller behavior in this regard. This description of behavior is
included for informational purposes only.
When feedback of a CB fails (wiring problem etc.), the controller indicates open breaker even though in fact the
breaker may be still closed. At such event the controller tries to reclose the breaker and after unsuccessful
reclosing it opens the breaker and allows start of gen-sets and closing of another breaker without synchronizing
or gen-sets may be started automatically and another breaker is closed without synchronizing.
When the feedback fails the breaker is opened by the actions that the controller takes (reclosing sequence ends
with CB OFF coil activation and CB close/open signal is deactivated). If there is a concern that the breaker may
not open after feedback fail the following measures should be applied.
For full safety when operating breakers using of secondary feedback (CB fdb neg) is available.
In some cases it may not be possible to use secondary feedback and still the start of gen-sets needs to be
prevented if CB fail alarm isissued. Should this be the case the following function should be used to prevent
automatic start gen-set/gen-set group and closing to Mains voltage without synchronizing since the feedback
from a breaker is faulty.
