PROCEDURE

1. Place 30 cm3 of saturated sucrose solution in a tall measuring cylinder

2. With care, add 30cm3 of copper(II) sulphate solution, disturbing the previous layer as little as
possible.
3. Add 30cm3 of water again disturbing the previous layers as little as possible.
4. Set the measuring cylinder aside and observe at regular intervals over several days.
5. Write up what you observe.
