In this activity, my students are going to use Canva to create a Poster of the food chain.

Activity
1. In class, the students have learned about the relationships
between animals and their environment (they know what a
producer, consumer, and decomposer are).
2. For today’s activity, the students will go on to Canva.com or
use the mobile app on their devices and use their school
email to create an account for free.
3. The students will be required to create a poster of the food
chain (they have the option to start from a blank canvas or
use a template). They will need to include parts of the food
chain (producer, consumer, and decomposer), a description
of what a producer, consumer, and decomposer are, and
show that they know the order of a food chain.
4. Before the students begin the activity, I will go over the
example I have created. As a class, we will go step-by-step on
what is expected of them and go over any questions they

5. As they work on their activity, I will check to see how each
student is doing and guide them where needed.

Mobile App Option The web tool chosen does have a mobile app. It is called Canva:
Graphic Design & Video. It is available for students on both iPhone and
Android. It is for free on iTunes App Store and Google Play Store.
