RATIONALE:

Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School doesn’t hear the lively music played by the other
school children who are members of the Drum & Lyre corps for several years now. It would be a
great opportunity and pride if people see a picture of young and talented musicians alongside
with charming pretty majorettes that will come from our school.
We hope to bring back that same mood and happiness. We aim to inculcate to the pupils
the love of music and discipline. Through this project, pupils would discover and enhance their
skills in playing musical instruments and apply what they have learned in MAPEH and whenever
possible. If organized, our school will have a group that we can see and utilized whenever we
have school activities, as well as purok and barangay activities. We hope to see them give
entertainment during these activities and the like. Our street parade will definitely be an event to
look forward to by the school and community because of our Drum & Lyre Corps. It would also
be a great pride and fulfilment for the parents to see their kids showcasing their talents.
Acquiring the musical instruments needed requires a big amount of fund. It will be a
burden for parents if we ask them to purchase a particular instrument for the child to use or play.
Collaborative support of the whole school stakeholders specifically by the community is greatly
needed. The instruments that we will be able to acquire shall become school property and shall
continue to be of service to the school children as long as they’re apt. to use.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
1. Develop the skills and talents of pupils in playing different musical instruments
and love for music.
2. Enhance pupils’ grace, poise, self-confidence and total personality and reach full musical
3. potential.
4. Gain good rapport with the parents and community and promote school spirit.
5. Show wholesome interpersonal relationship among each other and that each pupils grow
socially as individuals and as a group.
6. Expose local/young musical talents to the different activities for their further
development as future musicians.

1. Trainer’s fee: 50 members X ₱500.00 = ₱25,000.00

2. 2 Bass Drums, 1 quadruple drum, 2 tam2x drums, 1 cymbal = ₱30,000.00

Division of City Schools. The school receives support from DepEd but this cannot suffice to
provide all the needs of the school. We aim to organize a Drum & Lyre Corps to discover and
develop the musical talents of our pupils and enhance their personality.

In this connection, we humbly ask Financial/Cash Assistance from your office in the provision of
the following instruments to create a complete and great school DLC:
1. 2 Bass Drums
2. 2 Grand Lire
3. 2 triple drums
4. 2 tam tam
5. Band uniform of 100 Drum and Lyre Members
We are looking forward to have these instruments on July 28, 2018 as we start our practices.
