The remains of late general and politician Kundi Pahama were laid today in
Kipungo, his home land, in Huila province.
Representatives from State Sovereignty and civil society bodies pay
homage to the former Minister of National Defence, who died last Friday
due to illness.

A new series of banknotes made of polymer entered today into circulation
in Angola
The new banknotes would enter into circulation gradually, with the
integration of 200 Kwanza (AKz) banknotes, being 500 kwanzas
introduced in September, 1,000 in October and 2,000 in November.
Despite of the legal provision, the AKz 10,000 banknotes are not expected
to enter into circulation unless it proves absolutely necessary.
The entry into service will be progressive in order to allow knowledge of
its characteristics and ensure that it is available in national territory.
The new banknotes will coexist with the existing ones of 2012 series until
December 31 of 2021.

Four more banks have expressed their availability to join the Credit
Support Programme (PAC).
They are Banco Sol, Banco Caixa Geral Angola, Banco Prestígio and
Banco de Crédito de Sul.
The four finational instituition signed a memorandun of understanding with
the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Development Bank of Angola
(BDA) and the Credit Guarantee Fund.
The initiative will reinforce the loan portfolio of this programme with an
additional 24.7 billion kwanzas.
The aforementioned amount may increase with the adhesion of the other
banks, which have expressed interest in joining the Support Programme for
National Production, Export Diversification and Import Replacement
(PRODESI), which has 198 billion Kwanzas from nine commercial banks -
BPC, BIC, SKA, BAI, BNI, BCH, BMA, BCI and BFA.

The country needs to draw new policies to address and reduce the impact of
the informal activities.
This was said by economist Hernany Luis in an interview to this
programme.
According to him, a consultation meeting should take place in order to
listen to the concerns of people connected to the informal activities.

The representative of the United Nations Fund for Population to Angola
(UNFPA), Florbela Fernandes highlighted the progress women have been
achieving in the country.
According to her, women empowerement remains a priority for Angola and
for the continente, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Florbela Fernandes added that women can still do better if they are puta t
the forefront.
