Dear Students

This information is for all students of B.Tech final year from the School of Mechanical
Engineering who are in OJT/Internship for session 19202 and not able to complete their
internship due to threats posed by coronavirus . Also, the company has put you on leave
as most of the companies are shut down due to Covid-19. In order to facilitate these
students who are unable to complete their OJT/internship due to this. The following
options have been approved by the competent authority for such students for equating
the term 19202 of their OJT/internship.

Case No. 1 -: If the duration of OJT/Internship completed in session-19202 is more

than 2 months but less than 3 months
Option-1: Student can opt for Mode B
• The student is required to apply for the cancellation of his/her OJT/ internship
as per the guidelines so that the conversion of Mode A to Mode B can be done.
• Students shall also be required to submit their training certificates/email from
the company to respective TPC latest by 2nd May 2020 to get the duty leave
benefit of the training period in the industry.
Option-2: Students can opt for a MOOC of at least 2 months or for at least 60 hours to
make up for the additional minimum duration of training to be eligible for appearing in
ETP and can continue with Mode A.
• The MOOC to be undertaken must be verified from training and placement office
or else the MOOC certification shall not be considered and the student shall not
be eligible to appear in ETP.
• The student is required to upload the MOOC certification along with the
experience letter from the employer where the OJT/ internship was done on
UMS interface as per the timelines specified by Division of Examination in due
course of time to be eligible for appearing in ETP.
Important points:
• Students are requested to go through the guidelines available at Important

Internship Policy.pdf and apply for Internship/OJT cancellation or conversion of
MODE A to B and fill the information in the link provided below in UMS
announcement latest by 2nd may, 2020.
• The student must take prior approval for the MOOCs courses (wherever
applicable) to be undertaken through training and placement office before
registering for the same or else their MOOCs certification may not be considered
for evaluation.
• The final ETP viva for Internship/OJT courses shall be tentatively scheduled
tentatively from June 2020 onwards. The final date of the same will be
announced via UMS. So kindly keep in touch with your UMS for the latest
updates.
• The list of the MOOCs courses is attached in the email below. Each student has to
choose only one course and fill the details of the same in the link provided to you.
No MOOCs course other than this list will be considered for the final evaluation
without permission from the Placement office (guravtar.14443@lpu.co.in,
sanjeev.17704@lpu.co.in). At the time of the final evaluation, MOOCs certificate
will be verified online as well as in hard copy. If any student has an issue
regarding the below mentioned MOOCs, they can write to us on
guravtar.14443@lpu.co.in, sanjeev.17704@lpu.co.in. It is requested from the
students that kindly go through the details of the MOOCs before selecting for the
Summer Internship/Industrial Training for starting dates of the MOOCs, the fee
of the course, minimum duration, and time as mentioned.
• After completion of the internship, Student has to make training report of
work/project/MOOCs he/she has completed during the internship/OJT (training
report format will be shared through e-mail to you),
 • All the students should strictly follow the guidelines mentioned above and
appear for the final evaluation of internship/OJT with a training report, training
certificate, and PowerPoint presentation of the training work.
• R Grade shall be awarded to a student in the case where he/she did not bring
internship report or internship certificate, or if the student was absent in ETP
Viva, or could not clear passing condition for ETP Viva.
