Uncle Don’s is a progressive chain
of restaurants & bar specializing in
the development of affordable
quality dining experiences
throughout Malaysia with
additional diversified businesses
associated with the food &
beverage and hospitality industry.

Founded and driven by experts in the industry, the group was established on the 11th of
September 2015 and now comprise 18 high performance restaurants and bars with 3
exciting projects concurrently under development.

It’s brand slogan “Dine like a Don everyday” conveys the brand’s spirit of affordable
dining in the simplest of ways and is today recognized as a leading brand for generating
huge amount of traffic volume. It is themed as a family styled restaurant suitable for
bringing family and friends together.

the areas of cuisine, service and ambiance
while strengthening the growth and viability of
all segments of the company for the long term
benefit of employees, customers, suppliers,
trade partners and landowners.

OPERATING PHILOSOPHY
&VISION
The philosophy of Uncle Don’s is to efficiently produce
high quality fusion cuisine in an interactive kitchen
environment with ingredients that are mostly fresh local
produce.

The predominant theme of commitments and vision are:

 To continuously grow and achieve nationwide
status by 2021

CONSISTENT QUALITY
To maintain consistently good quality, we
built our central kitchen in September 2018.

Within its 11,000sqft parameter, fresh


ingredients supplied daily, are blended from
scratch creating our own marinades under
strict hygiene and food safety standards of
practice.
Strict practices include:
 Defined cold and dry storage areas
 Temperature controlled supply chain
 Typhoid vaccination and food handler’s
certificate for all chefs and kitchen
staffs
 Full and proper attires
 Drivers trained to handle shipments in
temperature controlled refrigerated
trucks
TRAINING
Training is imperative to our success and is
reflected in the level of service and knowledge
provided to our guest.

Regular training sessions are undertaken to


increase the knowledge and upgrade the skill of
team members to enhance performance and
competency levels.

Staff are trained in all aspects from


products, menus, restaurant features,
service skills, customer service,
complaint handling to reservation
techniques.

A comprehensive operating manual for


managers and staff are maintained and
carried in each restaurant.

MANAGEMENT TEAM
IAN ONG
FOUNDER, CEO & DIRECTOR
CEO and founder of Uncle Don’s, Ian Ong
graduated in 1992 for University of London
(External) with an award winning Second Class
(Upper) Honours and went on to complete his
Certificate in Legal Practice in 1993.

In 2005, after lecturing law for over 12 years,


Ian embarked his career in the food & beverage
industry. Through the years and armed with a
wealth experience, he launched Uncle Don’s in
2015 with a perfected business model and under
his leadership, guided the brand to be
recognized as a distinguished food & beverage
group.

As the CEO, Director and a former lecturer, Ian is regularly approached by Universities,
Colleges and media for industry comment, direction, quotes and motivation speeches.
He was conferred the prestigious Brand Leadership Award, The BrandLaureate Master
Brand Builder of the Decade for 2019-2020
DON DANIEL THESEIRA
CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Born to a family of chefs, Don discovered his


interest and passion for culinary arts at the age
of just 10.

After serving as apprentice for 2 years under his


father, he would ply his trade from 1979 to
1993 at The Dynasty Hotel (today known as
Singapore Marriott Tang Hotel) achieving sous
chef status, before moving on to The Royal
Plaza On Scotts Singapore until 1997, reporting
directly to the executive chef.

From 1997, Don mentored and trained chefs in


Ecco Italian Ristorante, an exquisite fine dining
restaurant in Perth boasting 84 tables.

Don Daniel is popularly known as “Uncle Don” and the name of the brand was born. His
immense 40-year culinary experience is embedded in all aspects of kitchen practices
today.
JAHNEL AGUARON
CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Jahnel Aguaron arrived from Philippines in 2011 as a student and


duly completed her Diploma in Business Administration in 2013
with Lincoln University College. As a founding member of the
group, Jahnel’s contributions have been instrumental in the
success and expansion of the company.

She is tasked with staff recruitment, training, maintaining


profitable operations and service standards for each outlet.

ATKINS RISHA ABRAHAM


DIRECTOR

Graduated with Bachelor of Science & Masters in


Technology Management, Atkins has a 13-year
experience in oil and gas industry and software
engineering.

He oversees the all aspects of IT infrastructure for server


management, Point of Sales and software management.
ELVAS ERICADOS THESIERA
HEAD CHEF
Elvas Ericados Theseira oversees the main operation
of the central kitchen by controlling and directing the
food preparation process.

With exceptional kitchen management ability,


communication and leadership, he is able to foster a
climate of cooperation and respect between co-
workers that is second to none.

SUNEETA GOPAL
LEGAL ADVISOR & HUMAN RESOURCE
Suneeta Gopal obtained her LL.B (Hons) from the
University of London (External) in 1998 and Certificate in
Legal Practice in 1999. She practiced civil litigation,
corporate, family and labour law for over 10 years.

In 2010, she was appointed as independent advisor for an


established financial firm on matters of human resource.
She joined the group in 2015 from inception to advise on
legal and human resource matters
LEE KIM WAY
ACCOUNTANT
ACCA qualified and with a financial background
exceeding 37 years, Lee is responsible for the group’s
accounting and financial operations.

The finance department oversees the financial control


of income and expenditure for each individual outlet
and associated businesses. Lee also advises on tax
matters and the consolidation of accounts for all
subsidiaries.

EMMANUEL THESEIRA
LOGISTICS & OPERATIONS
Emmanuel organizes and controls storage, goods distribution,
directs and optimizes the full order cycle, tracks and catalogs
inventory, plans routes and process shipments.

Additionally, he controls and trains the warehouse workforce,


monitors costs and productivity.
