Insight Peace No. 1:

From Fairness, the Divine Feminine and Bill Gates To Stillness

The initial title of my insight piece was supposedly “In defense of fairness, the divine
feminine and Bill Gates”. I realized, however, that the last session was a dialogue and
not a debate where we have calcified views that we have to defend. I like the idea that
LTs were not asked to respond to feedback because it is part of the sensing process.
Often times we are defensive and reactive because we think that an idea that we
articulated is an extension of ourselves, hence we take it personally when our idea is
questioned. The sensing exercise exposes the ego because when we were asked to just
listen, it created a space between our inner self and our ego. The restraint that we
exercised created a sense of stillness. I think that transcending an ego system requires
stillness. The World is on a stand”STILL” because we have to be still. We are evolving,
the World is, and we are being asked to be still. “Stillness,” that is what emerged for me.

I am really impressed with what emerged. I initially wanted to be cerebral about this
paper and defend the importance of fairness, the divine feminine and Bill Gates in a very
logical and structured essay. But when I quieted my mind and became still, I realized
that I do not have to defend anything, I became aware of my ego. I think this is what
Otto Scharmer means by presencing, where we connect to the source, and where we let
go and let come. So, while fairness, the divine feminine and Bill Gates are thought forms
that are worth exploring, what is more important for me right now is to know what
“stillness” truly means, and to experience the beauty of stillness as a 21 st Century tool
for leadership.
