 How did people develop our current understanding that
all living things are made up of cells and that cells are the
basic unit of life?
 How did technology help early scientist learn about
scientist?
The teacher will divide the class in 5 groups and will be given
pictures of numerous scientist and their contribution and the
students will try to identify and match it correctly.
The teacher will ask some other groups to try to check the ouputs
of other groups after viewing a short video clip.
The teacher will now present a powepoint presentation and
discuss/explain the development and postulates of the cell theory.
The teacher will flash a card number and the students will try to
state the theory corresponding the number.
The teacher will ask the students some practical application of the
advancement of science through the discovery of cell and ask
them to present it to the class in a creative way.
The teacher will ask the students to construct a timeline using the
pictures of scientist and their contributions used earlier in the
activity and they will try to discuss the development of the cell
theory in their own understanding.
The teacher will prepare a paper and pencil test.
The teacher will post on the board the picture of the cell and students will label the
parts of the cell.
Pictures of a bank robbery will be flashed on the screen and the teacher will ask
the following questions:
1. Imagine our home, school, and other establishment allows anyone to get in,
what do you think will happen?
2. Do you think cells also need guards to protect them?
3. What are the functions of the cell?
With the same group make a short presentation that would simulate the function
of the cell and the major and sub cellular organelles.
Group the students into 5 and let them make a concept map about a the cell and
present it creatively in the class.
With the same group make song about the cell, its organelle and function. The
student and the teacher will make together a holistic rubric for the criteria of the
performance task.

2. How can we take good care of our cells?
Group yourselves in to two and show short presentation on how we can take care
of our cells.
The Students and the teacher will make rubric for the criteria of the task
Using a PowerPoint presentation, the teacher will explain the topic deductively.
A video will be shown about cell structure and explain the two categories of cells
and functions of organelles.
The teacher will prepare a check-up quiz entitled “Word Bank”
who scored below 80%
