Hello Sir,

I am Ekta Singh Chauhan, pursuing an Executive post graduate Diploma in Sports Management from
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak.

On behalf of Group 3 of the second batch of the Institute, I am here to interview you as I am keen to
know more about International Sports management/coaching.

We are delighted to have gotten a chance to Interview Mr Chetan Dhingra, an International Cricket
Coach

Sir before we begin, I would like to get an introduction from you about yourself, your career as a
Sports coach and work experience briefly.

Now we begin with the Interview. Sir you are free to reply any questions you choose to:

Q 1) What made you choose Sports as a career? Why have you chosen Sports Coaching over
other dimensions in Sports?

Q 2) How long have you been coaching for? What is the most rewarding part of being a coach?

Q 3) What is the most challenging part of Sports Coaching?

Q 4) What is the key to a successful career as an International Sports Coach?

Q 5) Being in such diverse cultural locations in your career, what problems did you face in
communication to the team? How did you overcome this difficulty?

Q 6) As a coach, what values do you have for your team?

Q 7) What was your most successful team you have been a part of? Why was it successful?

Q 8) Tell me about the time you planned a winning strategy for a weak or inexperienced team.

Q 9) Tell me how you organize, plan, and prioritize your work. Please share with me an example
of how you helped coach or mentor someone. What improvements did you see in the person's
knowledge or skills?

Q 10) Please share an experience in which you successfully taught a difficult principle or concept.
How were you able to be successful?

Q 11) Tell me about a time you successfully implemented or developed marketing strategies. What
made this experience successful?

Q 12) Share a time when you utilised a new policy in your role as a Coach. What brought about the
change? Did you need to get approval before implementing?

Q 13) What is the key to success when communicating with the public?
Q 14) Share an experience in which personal connections to co-workers or others helped you to be
successful in your work.

Q 15) How have you determined staffing requirements in the past?

Q 16) How do you measure the productivity and goal achievement of your department or team?

Q 17) If we asked one of your players to describe you and your qualities as a coach what sort of
things would they say about you?

Q 18) Provide an experience in which you were sensitive to someone's needs or feelings. How did
your helpfulness affect your work environment?

Q 19) Share an example of when you established and accomplished a goal that was personally
challenging. What helped you succeed?

Q 20) In your experience, what is the key to developing a good team? (Look for how they build
mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.)

Q 21) Share an experience when you applied new technology or information in your job. How did
it help your company?

Q 22) Share an experience in which you successfully coordinated with others. How about a
coordination effort that was not as successful?

Q 23) Provide an example of a time when you successfully organized a diverse group of people to
accomplish a task.

Q 24) What kind of experience do you have preparing work schedules and assigning specific
duties?

Q 25) Share an experience in which you used new training skills, ideas, or a method to adapt to a
new situation or improve an ongoing one.
